Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego? » A Day As a Gumshoe » Today 5:37 pm

The Lighting Round:

After three clues (two in Seasons 2 and 5), it is time for the Lighting Round. This is accompanied by a thunder sound effect and lighting effects (either by strobes lights or graphics in post-production). In Season 4, lighting bolts or hairy hands are shown to the camera accompanied by the sound effects. In Season 5, whenever Greg excitedly screams the camera will quickly zoom in on him and a stagehand will put some sort of lighting bolt on his head as if he was struck by lighting.

The Chase:

When it's time for the Chase to happen, Greg will inform the Gumshoes that the crook has left the last location visited and reminds them that it's time to "...pick up...the Chase!" This is always accompanied by Rockapella singing "Oooooooooooooooooooooooh... THE CHASE!" This particular cue was pre-recorded. In Season 5, the cue was changed to include Jeff Thatcher's vocal percussion.

In Seasons 2 and 3, random members of Rockapella are standing on either side of the set. When the cue is played and after Greg says "Let's pick up the Chase!" The Chase scene will happen. In Auld Lang Gone, Scott (who is wearing Sean's hat) ran across the stage, Sean started to Chase him but throws his hat across the stage, then runs behind the monitor and strips Greg's jacket. Sean laughs and Greg angrily chased him all around the studio. When they arrive at the Jailtime Challenge set, Sean danced around the set and confetti falls on him stopping him. Greg was giving a standing ovation, picks up the jacket and returns to HQ.

After Season 2, the producers decided to stop using Chase scenes involving Greg and the Chief. Reason: It slows down the episode!

In Seasons 4 and 5, the Chase cue plays after Greg says "Let's pick up the Chase!"

The Chief's Office:

The Chief's Office is located in a separate sound stage at Kaufman Astoria Studios. In Season 1, the office is located next to HQ. This is more like a traditional office. The office has two se

[Coney Island, 4:15pm (EST)]

[A montage of Jon and Freddie doing various activities along Coney Island (including riding the Wonder Wheel, and Cyclone, eating Hot Dogs at Nathan's, vising the New York aquarium, and playing mini-golf)]

[On the beach near the boardwalk, Jon and Freddie (both wearing blue and red Hawaiian shirts respectively and swimming trunks) sunbathe on the sand dreaming about girls]

Jon: Look at those pretty girls.

Freddie: They're beautiful. I can picture Bearbette and Frisky walking on the sand.

Jon: I can picture Penny swimming with me.

Freddie: Isn't Penny cute in her bikini?

Jon: Yeah.

[Suddenly, Greg appears]

Greg: Jon? Freddie?

[No answer...]

Greg: Boys?

[Still no answer...]

[Jon and Freddie woke up by surprise]

Jon and Freddie: WHOA!!!

Jon: Greg, what are you doing here?

Freddie: You just woke us up from our sunbathing!

Greg: You're on camera.

Jon: Oh. [clears throat then turns to the camera] Hi. It's midway through the summer and Me, Freddie, and "Captain" Greg Lee are at Coney Island taking some time off from ACME getting ready for Season 2 of ACME Wheel as well as our 10th year of producing shows.

Freddie: Yes sir. Man time does really fly.

Greg: I am really looking forward to going back to hosting a game show after a long hiatus.

Jon: Right after our time with us, we're going to take you to Part 2 of our all time summer favorite Tiny Toon Adventures: How I Spent My Vacation. Now, let's get down to business with ACME Wheel. Last time, we told you folks not only you can win cash, you can also win a brand new car.

Freddie: And we've done a lot of car shopping the cars that our contestants could win.

Freddie: A Toyota Camry.

Buttons & Rusty (Chucklewood Critters) » Did you know....? » 7/12/2018 6:02 pm

When ACME Crime Net began airing Buttons & Rusty/Chucklewood Critters, the title of the TV series (Chucklewood Critters; which ran from 1998-99 in syndication) was renamed The New Adventures of Buttons & Rusty to capitalize the stars of the franchise (Buttons & Rusty). Most of the holidays specials had the title "Buttons & Rusty in...."

The episodes that were YouTube were edited in a similar style to PBS-airings. The Picture Pages segments that were shown were sourced from videotapes I checked out from the library. Those Picture Pages originally aired on Captain Kangaroo and Nickeloden from the late-1970s to the 1990s. ACME thought it would be a good idea to upload a Picture Page attached to an episode of Buttons & Rusty so that the episode would be 28 minutes. The same length as a PBS program. So in return, you got the opening sequence, the episode itself, the Picture Page, the M.C. Franklin or P.S.A message, the funding credits (for some episodes), the credits, the PBS logo--what do you get? A 28 minute episode!

What about the WGBH logo at the end?
ACME Crime Net's flagship show Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? was produced by WQED Pittsburgh and WGBH Boston. Since Carmen Sandiego never used the WGBH Boston logo at the start or end of it's shows, we figured we should put that in.

ACME's Wheel of Fortune » ACME WoF - Upcoming Changes for Season 2 (So far...) » 6/26/2018 6:50 pm

[ACME Crime Net HQ, Tuesday, June 26, 9:43pm (EST)]

[Jon and Freddie sweep up the studio]

Freddie: Hi, everybody.

Jon: I know you're getting ready to watch Dog Eat Dog, but we'll get to that in just a moment. Freddie and I are taking a break from our camping trip as we would like to talk about a few of the changes that we're going to have when Season 2 of ACME Wheel comes this fall.

Freddie: Remember we told you when we left for summer vacation, not only you can win cash but you could also win something for the parents. Alvin, what is it?

Alvin: A NEW CAR!!!

Jon: That's right. A new car. Now here's how you can win a brand new car on ACME Wheel. You have to win the game and solve the bonus puzzle in order to have a chance at a brand new car.

[Freddie extracts a bowl of car keys]

Jon: Inside this bowl are five sets of keys. One of those keys is the key to a brand new car. We're going to give you a chance to win three extra chances to win a car.

The contestants must land on the wedge marked "CAR." Guess a correct letter in the puzzle and it goes into your bank plus you earn $50 per each letter in the puzzle; $100 in Rounds 2 and 3. Solve the puzzle without landing on Bankrupt or Super Bankrupt and the car chance goes into your total.

Freddie: We can only give away one free car chance per round. In any event the car wedge is landed and if the contestant has a car chance, it is a normal $50 space in Round 1. $100 in Rounds 2 and 3. But in Rounds 2 and 3, if you land on Super Bankrupt all of your extra chances go bye-bye-bye.

Jon: Up to four chances to win the car are available, but only if you solve the bonus puzzle. We're only going to be looking at basic starter cars.

Freddie: Like a Ford Fiesta, Chevy Sonic, Nissan Versa, Honda FIT, Hyundai Accent, Toyota Corolla, just to name a few. We'll do research throughout the

[Jon's truck arrives at the campsite. Jon and Freddie get out of the truck and set-up their campsite (video goes in fast motion as they set up)]

Jon: Whoo! After a six hour truck ride through New Jersey and setting up our campsite, we need a good nights rest. We spent the whole week packing up for the trip and drove along the GSP, and the New Jersey, and Pennsylvania Turnpikes.

Freddie: We worked non-stop and took a very long time to set up camp. We made a few mistakes but luckily we were able to manage our campsite. We haven't been eaten since two this afternoon. Tomorrow, we will be going hiking, boating, and maybe a swim.

Jon: The video itself is 80 minutes long. But we at ACME decided to split the video into three separate parts. Making it easier to see one part in each of the three months of summer.

Freddie: Part 1; which you'll be seeing in a moment; will be shown in June. Part 2 will be in July. And Part 3 will be shown in the middle of August. And then on Labor Day Weekend, we will air all three parts together.

Jon: I have received this itinerary from ACME Tiny Toon Net. [reads the itinerary:] Plucky Duck and Hampton go o

General Discussion » WANTED: BuddyBoy600 » 5/04/2018 8:57 pm

Longtime YouTuber BuddyBoy600alt is known for uploading episodes of the Disney TV Show Marsupilami which aired on CBS (not NBC!) in 1993. But he is also known for his famous rants of YouTube users who got suspended or get a copyright strike for FALSE copyright claims by the Warner Music Group (WMG) who in 2009 famously got a false copyright claim for the theme song to Where In The World is Carmen Sandiego? by Rockapella.

Just today during my lunch break from work, he uploaded his most recent rant video.

Here's what the description of the video said:

"I found out Shawnp2210 got a copyright strike for an episode of Disney's Raw Toonage. It was claimed by SabansPowerRangers. Bonkers/Raw Toonage/Marsupilami are owned by The Walt Disney Company. NOT Saban Entertainment Inc. This is a copyfraud. This is similar to what WMG (Warner Music Group) did to Disney fans on Youtube back in 2009-2013. I was mad in 2011 when DisneysBonkers028 got terminated. That means we lose the English version of the Bonkers short "Bobcat Fever" and "Petal to the Metal" and the English version of the Marsupilami short "Romancing the Clone". Copyfraud is unacceptable.  #WTFU #WheresTheFairUse"

He also posted a similar rant on his LiveJournal.

After I typed in the deadlink, the video itself is actually blocked by Disney. This means, the video itself is blocked worldwide. The video is to be kept on YouTube, but it cannot be viewed globally. Shawnp2210 did not get a copyright strike as a result of the video being blocked.

BuddyBoy600 also ranted on users that were terminated on YouTube due to copyright infringement by WMG. Actually, most users were terminated from copyright strikes by Disney. Not WMG! Why does he keep blaming users from WMG?
