ACME WoF - Episode 12

Sarah: Hey, everyone! ACME Wheel is about to begin! Just remember to turn the lights on in your room, and don't sit too close to the monitor.

[Showtime!]

All: WHEEL...OF....FORTUNE!!!

[Cheers and applause]

Alvin: The famous wheel is spinning your way towards thousands of dollars in cash! And now from the ACME Studios, here are the stars of our show, Jonathan Mann!

Jon: [enters HQ] Hey all!

Alvin: And iKing!

iKing: [enters HQ] WHOO! Hello, everybody! The weather's getting warm, the snow is melted, and I can feel the bees humming.

Jon: That's because it's spring! Snow is gone. Cold weather's gone. It's spring, I say! Hi, folks. Welcome to another edition of the game you loved, ACME's way. We got three duelists...

[Laughter!]

Jon: I mean players who will be spinning their way to all sorts of cash by solving puzzles. Shall we meet them?

[Now to the contestants]

Alvin: I'm sure we can, Jon. Our first contestant enjoys extreme sports, and hopes to become a professional skateboarder. From Flushing, Queens, say hello to Roscoe Dahann!

Contestant #2 enjoys visiting the Lighthouse each day after school and hopes to become a harbormaster like his father! From Cape May, New Jersey, it's Salty Marz!

Contestant #3 enjoys baseball, horseback riding, and hopes to own a stable. From Staten Island, meet Justin Zarna!

[Applause]

Jon: Contestants, are you ready to play?

Contestants: Yes!

Jon: You know how this is done. Let's look at our wheel.

And here is our first puzzle. iKing?

iKing: The category is On The Map.

Freddie: On the mouth!

[Laughter!]

Jon: You see, there's no such band as The Poors. But there's a rock band called The Doors. Anyway, Salty $6,000 for you. When we add the $5,000 to what you've won earlier, that puts you in a tie with Justin with $11,000. We'll get to you and Justin in a moment. First off, I want to say Roscoe, sorry things didn't work out for you despite you've Super Bankrupted earlier. We're gonna give you $500 and our thanks for being here on ACME Wheel.

Roscoe: You're welcome.

Jon: Now, Salty and Justin. We have a rule stating that only one player goes to the Bonus Round. We are going to have a tiebreaker to determine which one of you goes to the Bonus Round. Here's how it works. You see that button located in front your podiums? We are going to show you a puzzle with no category. A letter will come up every five seconds. When you're ready to solve the puzzle, ring in and give me the correct solution. If you're right, you're off the bonus round, and we will give you an additional $1,000. If not, the other player will have a chance to solve. You cannot win by default, you must solve the puzzle. Here comes the puzzle.

[_ _ _ _ _ _    _ _ _ _ _]

Jon: Here we go.

[_ _ S _ _ _    _ _ _ _ _]

[_ _ S _ _ _    _ O _ _ _]

[_ I S _ _ _    _ O _ _ _]

[_ I S _ E _    _ O _ _ S]

[_ I S T E _    _ O _ _ S]

[_ I S T E _    R O _ _ S]

[Salty rings in]

Jon: Salty?

Salty: MISTER ROGERS.

Jon: Yes!

[Applause]

[MISTER ROGERS]

Jon: Salty, you're off to the Bonus Round with $12,000. Justin, $11,000 and our thanks for being here on ACME Wheel.

Justin: You're welcome.

Jon: Well, Salty, let's go to the tray of envelopes!

[He and Salty go to the Bonus Round where Jeanette and Freddie (covered in a blanket) await]

Jon: What's up, Jeanette?

Jeanette: Well, Jon, I didn't bring a tray of envelopes today.

Jon: Why?

Jeanette: The other day, Freddie called Eleanor a chicken when he saw her at the YMCA working out. Like me and Brittany, she disliked being called chicken. So as punishment, we did something we've never done before.

[She pulls the blanket to reveal envelopes all around Freddie]

[Laughter!]

Jeanette: We made Freddie into a Christmas tree, except with envelopes taped on it.

Jon: Ooh, I see. Now, Salty, you're gonna choose an envelope off of Freddie. You know what each of these contain. Multipliers from double to a quadruple. Only one of them increases your winnings by 10. Choose an envelope, and good luck.

Jeanette: Be careful, Salty.

[Salty choose an envelope near Freddie's stomach]

Freddie: [giggles] That tickles.

Jeanette: Now, Freddie, are you gonna apologize to Eleanor on calling her that?

Freddie: I will.

Jeanette: That's good. [leaves with Freddie]

Jon: All right, Salty. Let's work on this puzzle. What's our category, iKing?

iKing: The category is Person.

Jon: And remember, Person does not always mean Proper Name.

[_ _ _ _ _]

Jon: R-S-T-L-N-E.

[_ E _ _ _]

Jon: That's all you're gonna get. Three more consonants and one vowel.

Salty: C-D-M-A.

Jon: Okay.

[M E D _ C]

[Applause]

Jon: All right, audience. Do not shout anything at all! Salty must do this on his own. You have fifteen seconds to talk it out. Good luck.

Salty: MEDIC!!!

Jon: You don't need one, Salty! You got it!

[Cheers and applause]

[M E D I C]

Jon: Congratulations, Salty. Let's open up that envelope to see what you have done with the money.

Salty: [opens the envelope to reveal]: Quadruple!

[Cheers and applause]

Alvin: Salty, you have quadrupled your money to $48,000! Congratulations!

[Applause]

Jon: $48,000! Spend that money wisely!

Salty: I will.

Jon: That's how we do it on ACME Wheel. Spin the wheel, buy a vowel, solve the puzzle, and win lots of cash. We'll do it again next time. From iKing, Alvin, Jeanette, and the trouble-maker himself Freddie, this is Jonathan Mann reminding you to keep on spinnin' and keep on solvin'!

All: Ta-ta!

[Cheers and applause]
