LN: I know we still have lesser Demonoids at our disposal, but those we've already sent have failed us. I must fight the Spirit Soldiers.

[She pats her stomach]

LN: I will not allow you to escape, even if it costs me my very existence.

[132 Madison Street, Thursday, October 31st, 3:44pm]

[Tohka comes out of Shido's group's guest room dressed as Jill Valentine of Resident Evil]

Tohka: The way I feel now, no monster would dare tangle with me.

[Miku comes out dressed as Princess Peach of Super Mario Bros.]

Miku: Tohka, sweetie, you're a shoo-in to win that contest.

Tohka: I don't know, Miku. Your costume looks cute, too.

Miku: Gee, thanks. But you know Princess Peach is too obvi.

[Kaguya and Yuzuru come out dressed as Mileena (Kaguya) and Kitana (Yuzuru) of Mortal Kombat]

Kaguya: You're both dead meat tonight!

Yuzuru: Agreement. The contest is as good as ours.

Tohka: I'll admit, those are nice costumes, and those characters suit you well. But don't get your hopes too high.

Yuzuru: Sigh. Please don't break our hearts.

Kaguya: We worked so hard on these costumes.

[Natsumi comes out dressed as Cotton of the Cotton series]

Natsumi: My costume's too cute for the judges to say no to.

[Mukuro comes out dressed as Princess Zelda of The Legend of Zelda; Yoshino comes out dressed as Cream the Rabbit of Sonic the Hedgehog]

Mukuro: Too bad I'm in the same boat as Miku.

Yoshino: Personally, I don't care who wins. [holds up Yoshinon, who is dressed as Pac-Man] Right, Yoshinon?

Yoshinon: Wakka-wakka-wakka-wakka. Right. We just like these costumes.

[Kurumi comes out dressed as Rachel Alucard of the BlazBlue series]

Kurumi: Who wants to feed me their blood?

Tohka: I'll take a pass, Kurumi. Sorry.

Kurumi: [sighs] And I thought this costume would be a lock.

Nia: [comes out dressed as a Splatoon Inkling] Oh, you look fine, Kurumin. Hell, even better than me.

[Origami comes out dressed as Purple Heart of the Hyperdimension Neptunia series]

Origami: As far as I'm concerned, my group is sure to win the prize.

[Ryouko, Mikie, and Mildred come out dressed as Neptunia characters:
Ryouko: Black Heart
Mikie: White Heart
Mildred: Green Heart]

Ryouko: Well, what do you think?

Mikie: Brings out our eyes, eh?

Mildred: I've always loved Green Heart. She represents my favorite console: The original Xbox.

Tohka: You guys look great. But where's Shido and his sisters?

Ryouko: Oh, they're taking selfies. They seem pretty confident about their costumes.

[Shido, Kotori, and Mana come out dressed as characters of Final Fantasy VII:
Shido: Cloud Strife
Mana: Tifa Lockhart
Kotori: Aerith Gainsborough]

Origami: Oh, my!

Miku: Darling, look at you!

Tohka: And you even got the sword to go with it!

Shido: Thanks. Kotori always loved this RPG.

Kotori: [puts a lollipop in her mouth] Too bad Mana and I had to play rock-paper-scissors to decide who got the Tifa costume.

Mana: Hey, you got the character that wears your favorite color. Be happy with Aerith.

Miku: Plus, Mana, your costume suits you perfectly, right down to the boobs.

[Kotori furiously bites down on her lollipop]

Shido: Kotori, remember your root canal.

[The Chipmunks and the Chipettes come out of the Exceeds' room in costume, as well:

Theodore: We have matching colors.

Brittany: [notices Miku] No wonder Peach was taken.

Miku: Yeah. Sorry, Brittany.

Simon: Aw, she should consider herself lucky.

Shido: Simon, why didn't you spring for the Toad costume?

Simon: Unfortunately, Donkey Kong was the only one left in the Mario group.

Jeanette: Who got the Toad suit?

[Ai, Mai, and Mii enter the warehouse in costume:
Ai: Birdo
Mai: Toadette
Mii: Toad]

Ai, Mai, and Mii: Trick or treat!

Alvin: You three?

Ai: Hi, Alvin. Like our costumes?

Mai: I was given the Toad costume, but I knew Mii loved that character best, so we traded.

Mii: Toadette is so lame, anyway.

Eleanor: Who invited you three, anyway?

Kotori: I invited them, but as trick-or-treating chaperones, and they're welcome to join us for the party.

Alvin: Oh, I almost forgot. Check out the Exceeds' costumes!

[The Exceeds come out dressed as Street Fighter characters:
Tor: Ryu
Julie: Ibuki
Tomoe: Chun-Li
Miyabi: Sakura
Lilith: Cammy

[Shido's group is enamored]

Tohka: My God! Those characters! They suit you all to a T!

Kotori: Especially you, Lilith. You're like Cammy in every way-- A strong English combatant.

Lilith: I almost sound like her, too, don't you think? Too bad Tor had me wear jeans while chaperoning the trick-or-treaters.

Tor: It's for your own good, Lilith. If parents caught you wearing such an outfit in front of their kids, they'd never let you be a chaperone again. It's only until after the job is done.

Lilith: [sighs] All right. All right. Not that anyone's ever complained about the character herself, anyway.

Tor: Anywho, as for my costume, there's no male character that can capture Ryu's cool 'tude. That's why I picked this one.

Miyabi: I picked Sakura because she always wanted to be like Ryu, just like I do with Tor.

Tomoe: Someone in the group had to take the Chun-Li costume.

Julie: I always wanted to be like Ibuki.

Imari: I figured a Street Fighter character who's also a Final Fight character would suit me.

Tsukimi: Juri is just about as ruthless as I am. So I picked her costume.

Lilith: To be honest, this tops my Mary Poppins costume from last year.

[She has a flashback from Halloween of 2018, when she was dressed as Mary Poppins, and Tor as Bert; in the flashback, Tor and Lilith are singing and dancing in front of children]

Tor and Lilith: Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.
Even though the sound of it
is something quite atrocious.

[Back to the present]

Tor: Costume opinions aside, we all gotta be on our guard when taking the kids trick-or-treating tonight. I heard news that 11 children had gone missing last night. No one's found 'em yet.

Tohka: That's terrible. But don't worry, Tor. We'll make sure the kids we chaperone get through this safe and sound.

[The sound of a bus horn is heard coming from outside]

Alvin: That's the bus from the grade school!

[A group of grade school children in costume enter with their parents]

Tohka: Happy Halloween, everybody!

Miku: I like your costumes!

Tsukimi: For those of you who don't remember me from last year, I'm Rito Tsukimi, the head chaperone. Remember, parents, when you leave your kids, sign them in, and when you pick 'em up, sign 'em out. It's our job as chaperones to keep tabs on everyone. Understood?

Parents: Yes, ma'am.

[They line up to sign their children in]

Tsukimi: Wonderful. As for you, kids, are you ready to have fun trick-or-treating?!

Children: YEAH!

Tomoe: Okay. Everyone, grab a bag!

[Shido and Tohka hand out the bags]

Shido: There's more than enough for everyone. [to one of the children who is dressed like Squall of Final Fantasy VIII] Brad, cool costume.

Brad: Thanks, Shido. You're not so bad yourself.

[Tohka takes a bag for herself]

Shido: Tohka, aren't you a little old for this?

Tohka: Can't be helped, Shido. I have a sweet tooth.

[Shido shrugs; Tohka puts a handful of candy in her bag and smiles]

Tohka: Once our future baby is old enough, he or she is gonna love this Halloween custom.

[Origami gets a text from Karen: "The babies are sleeping comfortably."; she turns to Kurumi with a smile and nod; Kurumi smiles back; they watch over the line of children with bags putting candy in their bags]

Kurumi: This sounds like a big responsibility, having to chaperone for these kids.

Origami: Hey, with so many of us chaperoning, we should all be fine.

[One mother approaches the two]

Mrs. Milton: I really appreciate you newcomers taking part in ACME's chaperone program.

Origami: We're happy to help, Mrs. Milton.

Kurumi: And don't worry. Your son is in good hands.

Mrs. Milton: Thanks. [to her son] Okay, Jonas. Be good with your chaperones, and I hope you bring me back a few Snickers.

Jonas: You bet, Mom. See you later.

Tsukimi: Okay. Any parent who's signed their kids in, please raise your hands.

[All parents raise their hands]

Tsukimi: Okie-dokie! Remember to meet back here at 5:30 to pick up your children. We'll see you then.

[The parents leave]

[Some of the children are dressed as the Spirit Soldiers; Kotori and Mana whistle in amazement at them]

Kotori: Who knew?

[Mana giggles in agreement; Ai, Mai, and Mii stare at the children in Spirit Soldier costumes]

Ai: Look at those Spirit Soldier lookalikes, you guys.

Mii: Yeah. They're all so tiny, it's lame.

Mai: You loony. The Spirit Soldiers probably have the power to shrink.

Ai: You don't think one of 'em might be an actual Spirit Soldier, do you, Mai?

Mai: That's what we gotta find out. But we're gonna have to chaperone for those kids.

[The trio turns to the group of children dressed as the Spirit Soldiers]

Ai: How'd you guys like to have the three of us as your chaperones?

[The children nod and give thumbs-up signals]

Ai: Great! Now, y'all got a bag?

[The children hold up their bags and nod]

Ai: Okay.

[She, Mai, and Mii lead the children outside]

Tor: Why do I get the feeling those three are in for a world of trouble?

Miyabi: I heard Eris had a problem like this two years ago when the Demonoids tricked her with fake kids in costume.

Tomoe: Except those with Ai and the others are real kids.

Lilith: I heard tell that they've been trying to unmask the Spirit Soldiers. All efforts prior failed.

Julie: If that's true, I doubt this plan will do any better than the others.

Imari: You said it.

Tsukimi: Okay, troops. [points at a dozen children] Tor, Lilith, and Julie, you've got these kids. [points at another dozen children] Tomoe, Miyabi, and Imari, you're in charge these kids. [points at another dozen children] I've got these on my own.

Other Exceeds: Yes, ma'am.

[The Exceeds lead their assigned children outside; Shido's group divides into separate groups:
Shido, Mana, and Kotori
Tohka, Miku, and Yoshino
Origami, Kurumi, and the Yamai twins
Natsumi, Mukuro, and Nia
Ryouko, Mikie, and Mildred]

[Each group is assigned to 10 children (the Chipmunks are among Shido's group; the Chipettes are among Tohka's group)]

Ryouko: Okay, everybody. Ready to go trick-or-treating?

Children: YEAH!

Tohka: Great! Let's go!

[They all head out; Alvin locks the door on his way out]

[In an apartment building, Shido, Mana, and Kotori lead their group of children to an apartment singing a familiar tune]

Shido, Mana, and Kotori: We're going trick-or-treating.
We'll shout a scary greeting.
We're wearing spooky costumes
as anyone can see.
Kotori: They're never gonna know it's me.

[Mana knocks on the door]

All: Trick or treat!

[Opening the door is Mai Valentine dressed as Harpie Lady]

Mai: Hello, everybody. Happy Halloween. [stares at Shido and his sisters] Oh, my! You three almost look like the real deal.

Kotori: Gee, thanks, Miss Mai.

Mai: Anyway, everyone form a line. One kid at a time.

[The children line up; Mai drops a handful of candy into each of their bags one by one]

Alvin: Thanks, Mai.

Theodore: Thank you.

Mai: My pleasure. Those costumes really suit you well.

[In another apartment building, Tohka, Miku, and Yoshino lead their group to another apartment singing the same tune]

Tohka, Miku, and Yoshino: We're going trick-or-treating.
We'll shout a scary greeting.
We're wearing spooky costumes
as anyone can see.
Yoshino: They're never gonna know it's me.
Yoshinon: Or me!

[Miku knocks on the door]

All: Trick or treat!

[Opening the door is Syrus Truesdale dressed as a bartender]

Miku: Hi, Syrus.

Syrus: Happy Halloween, ladies. Children. I see this year's theme is video games.

Tohka: Well, just for the chaperones. The kids are free to dress however they want.

Syrus: And may I say, Tohka, your costume is perfect for this time of year.

Tohka: Oh, thanks.

Syrus: Okay, everybody. Line up.

[The children line up; Syrus gives them each a handful of candy; he also drops a handful into Tohka's bag]

Tohka: Thank you, Syrus.

Syrus: Anytime. But aren't you a little old for this?

Brittany: Oh, don't worry about her, Sy. She hardly ever got in on this stuff. She's got a lot of trick-or-treating to catch up on.

Syrus: So I see.

[In another building, Origami, Kurumi, and the twins lead their group to an apartment singing the same tune]

Origami, Kurumi, Kaguya, and Yuzuru: We're going trick-or-treating.
We'll shout a scary greeting.
We're wearing spooky costumes
as anyone can see.
Kaguya and Yuzuru: They're never gonna know it's me.

[Kurumi knocks on the door]

All: Trick or treat!

[Cathy Taymor (dressed as a pirate) opens her door]

Kurumi: Hi, Miss Taymor. Long time, no see.

Cathy: Happy Halloween, everybody! [hands candy to the children one by one] So, you two, how are the new babies?

Origami: Both are in good shape for their first Halloween. They're with their nanny right now.

Kurumi: It's too bad they're not ready for trick-or-treating yet. But they're welcome to join our party tonight.

Cathy: [smiles] Hmm. And how's their dear old dad?

Kaguya: Shido's doing fine, Miss Taymor.

Yuzuru: Explanation. He and his sisters are with another group.

Origami: You know, Cathy, this is our first time taking part in ACME Crime Net's chaperone program.

Cathy: And you're already doing a good job. Oh! [tosses some extra Snickers into Jonas' bag] Here's some extra to share with your mom, Jonas.

Jonas: Thanks, Cathy.

Cathy: You're welcome. Tell her I said hi.

[In yet another apartment building, Natsumi, Mukuro, and Nia lead their group to an apartment singing the same song; at the same time, in another building, Ryouko, Mikie, and Mildred do the same with their group]

Natsumi, Mukuro, Nia, Ryouko, Mikie, and Mildred: We're going trick-or-treating.
We'll shout a scary greeting.
We're wearing spooky costumes
as anyone can see.
Nia and Mildred: They're never gonna know it's me.

[Mukuro and Mikie knock on their respective doors]

All: Trick or treat!

[In Natsumi, Mukuro, and Nia's location, Special Victims Detective Blake (dressed as Sherlock Holmes) opens his door]

Blake: Seems to me I've heard that song before, in an old kids' show. Anyway, Happy Halloween, everybody.

Natsumi: Ditto, Detective. [to the camera] In more ways than one.

[The children laugh]

Blake: Good one, Natsumi. Okay, kids. Single file.

[The children line up as he hands them each a handful of candy]

[At Ryouko, Mikie, and Mildred's location, 31st Precinct Detective Roth (dressed as Arsene Lupin (the original)) opens his door]

Roth: Who wants a treat?!

[The children line up for Roth to hand them each a handful of candy]

Ryouko: I never knew a cop would take time off on Halloween.

Roth: Well, not exactly, ma'am. At this hour, I do, but later tonight, I'm on desk, so I gotta hand out candies while I still can.

Ryouko: Oh, I see.

Roth: Shame I can't come to your party.

Ryouko: Don't worry. We'll post photos and videos on Twitter.

Roth: Mm-hmm.

[Later, at another building, Ai, Mai, and Mii lead their group outside; the children's bags are full of candy; Ai also has a bag full of candy]

Mii: Candy, Ai? Lame.

Mai: Don't tell me. You've been listening to Tohka, huh?

Ai: Hey, she couldn't be more right. Besides, there's enough for all of us.

[Mai and Mii's eyes widen; they look at Ai, then at each other, then smack their lips]

Mai: Okay, you win. Besides, I'm starting to have doubts about the kids' Spirit Soldier costumes.

Ai: Yeah, they look so unrealistic. Plus, their voices don't match the voices we heard from the real deal.

[Mii suddenly notices other children passing by dressed as Spirit Soldiers]

Mii: Hey, look, guys. More Spirit Soldiers.

Mai: They look a little more realistic. Let's act like we're scared, then they'll come and save us.

[Ai notices a nearby tree with a fake skeleton hanging from a branch]

Ai: And I think this skeleton might help.

[The trio sits near the skeleton]

Ai, Mai, and Mii: [meekly feign fright] Help! We're scared! A creepy skeleton's in our way.

[The disgusted passerby costumed children just ignore them and walk right past them]

Mii: [sighs] So lame.

Ai: Ah, this sucks. Let's just move on. We gotta get the kids back before 5:30.

[Mai and Mii agree; the trio sets off]

[Later, Shido's group and the children they're with make their way back to the warehouse singing]

Shido: There's one more place to visit.
Tohka: That one right over there.
Kurumi: I know we've seen that house.
Natsumi: But I just can't remember where.
Ryouko: It's big and brown and spooky
as anyone can see.
Mukuro: They'll never know it's me.
Mikie: Or me.
Origami: Or me.
Miku: Or me.
Mana: Or me.

[They tiptoe up to the warehouse's front door]

All of Shido's group: We're going trick-or-treating.
We'll shout a scary greeting.
Let's tiptoe up and knock
at the door at 132.

[Shido knocks on the door]

All: Trick or treat!

[MARIA opens the door holding a large bucket of candy and dressed as Palutena of Kid Icarus]

MARIA: Hi, guys!

Shido's group: MARIA?!
It's you!

MARIA: [hands out candy to everyone] Here you go, everybody. Happy Halloween.

[5:30:23pm]

[The parents sign their children out one by one before taking them home]

Tohka: Happy Halloween, kids. We hope to see you again next year.

Children: Thank you!

[Tsukimi goes over the list]

Tsukimi: Okay. That's everyone.

Tomoe: Good work, you guys. All the kids had a great time.

Tohka: I can't wait to do this again next year. Taking those kids trick-or-treating was one hell of a blast. [shows the contents of her bag] Plus, I made a good haul this year.

Tor: Tohka, you lucky woman, you.

[Lilith comes out of her group's room, this time, without her jeans on]

Lilith: Am I glad that job is over with. Those jeans were itchy. It's no wonder the real Cammy never wore them in combat.

Alvin: Hey, where's Ai, Mai, and Mii? If all the kids were signed out, why aren't they here?

[Ai, Mai, and Mii come out of the nearest restroom clutching their stomachs]

Miku: You three look upset. Did your kids have fun?

Mai: [nods] Mm-hmm. Great fun.

Ai: Wish I'd say the same for us. We didn't find any real Spirit Soldiers.

Mii: Waiting for the antacid to kick in.

[The trio sits down]

Kotori: Lemme guess-- You thought if Tohka could trick-or-treat at her age, so could you?

Ai: Mm-hmm. Finding the Spirit Soldiers and guiding those kids was hard work. [shows her empty bag]

Mai: We couldn't help ourselves.

Mii: So lame.

Tohka: Too much? [offers a handful of her candy] Or not enough?

[The trio starts gagging as their stomachs churn; they head back to the restroom]

Ai: No more for us! We're done!

Mai: And count us outta the party!

Mii: It'd be lame, anyway!

Tohka: [puts her candy back in her bag] Oh, well. More for us.

[Everyone goes through their candy; Shido's Spirit Brace beeps]

Shido: Come in.

Elliot: It's time to judge the costume contest. Please report to the Fraxinus.

Shido: Yes, Elliot. [to the rest of his group] Ladies, it's contest time.

Tohka: [sets her candy bag on the table] Oh! Right! [to the others] We'll catch you guys in a bit. Our founder's gonna judge our annual costume contest.

Tor: Well, good luck, you guys.

[Shido's group teleports out of the warehouse and on board the Fraxinus EX; the crew is in costume; Karen (dressed as Bayonetta) is holding babies Chiyo and Kazumi (who are dressed as Chocobos)]

Kannazuki: Right on time, Spirit Soldiers, and Wizard friends. Mr. Woodman, if you will?

[Elliot eyes the costumes one by one]

Elliot: Mm-hmm. Well put together. Yes, indeed. Okay.

[He turns to the rest of the crew, who have been looking over the costumes, as well; he confers with them indistinctly; the gang has their fingers crossed; he hands Karen an envelope]

Karen: [turns to the gang] Our judge has reached a verdict. [opens the envelope] The fourth runner-up is... [consults the note] Natsumi Kyouno.

[The gang applauds; Natsumi is given a pink 5th place ribbon]

Karen: The third runner-up is... Yoshino Himekawa.

[The gang applauds again; Yoshino is given an orange 4th place ribbon]

Karen: The second runner-up is... Mana Takamiya.

[The gang applauds again; Mana is given a green 3rd-place ribbon]

Karen: The first runner-up is... believe it or not, Yoshinon.

[The gang is in shock; they turn to Yoshino and Yoshinon]

Yoshinon: Nothing wrong with a puppet making runner-up.

[The others shrug, then applaud]

Yoshino: Congratulations, Yoshinon.

[Yoshinon is given a red runner-up ribbon]

Karen: Well done to our runners-up. But now, for our winner, who will receive the coveted blue ribbon, the sash, and a surprise package. This year's costume contest winner is... Tohka Yatogami!

[The gang cheers; Tohka is surprised; Miku hugs her]

Miku: I knew you'd win, Tohka! Congratulations!

[Karen hands Tohka a big blue winner's ribbon, a sash with the words "Best Halloween 2019 Costume" inscribed on it, and a box]

Shido: Never had a doubt in my mind, Tohka.

Kotori: Nice work.

Mana: Congratulations.

Tohka: Thanks, guys. [looks at the box] But what's in this box?

[She opens the box; inside is a copy of Fire Emblem: Three Houses]

Tohka: A role-playing game?

Karen: Fire Emblem: Three Houses. It's the latest in the Fire Emblem franchise.

Tohka: Oh. [excitedly] YAY! I can't wait to fire this up after the party!

Shido: Speaking of the party, we gotta get going.

Origami: [as Karen hands her Chiyo] Thank you for everything.

Kurumi: [as Karen hands her Kazumi] Here's hoping next year's contest goes well.

Elliot: You all have fun.

[Shido's group teleports out with the babies; MARIA joins them]

Kannazuki: You know, sir, maybe next year, you should recommend me as judge.

Karen: Elliot, I object. He's so biased and perverted that he'll choose Kotori, no matter what costume she wears.

Elliot: If I do make him next year's judge, I'll make sure he judges fairly. Right now, our dinner reservation awaits.

Westcott: With these prisoners, they won't need chips. [snaps fingers]

[An army of Bandersnatch 2.0 units drag in 11 shackled children]

JB: Children?!

Nervadrone: Where did they come from?

LN: My Bandersnatch spent last night breaking into homes and kidnapping enough children to power these Demonoids the same way I was powered two years ago.

Westcott: With human power sources, no one can stop them this time.

JB: Ingenious. When the Spirit Soldiers destroy these Demonoids, they'll end up killing the kids. The whole world will soon grow to hate them, and they'll have no choice but to surrender to us.

Westcott: Let's get to work.

[132 Madison Street, 7:43pm]

[The whole gang has their Halloween party; they dance; in the nursery, Origami feeds Chiyo yogurt while Kurumi feeds Kazumi baby formula; Chiyo smiles]

Origami: Just look at Chiyo, Kurumi. Her first taste of solid food.

Kurumi: Lucky you. I still have almost a month before I can do the same for Kazumi.

Origami: I promise, we'll have high chairs ready for them both by Thanksgiving.

[They put their babies into their cribs for a nap]

Origami: Mommy's got a party to go back to, Chiyo.

Tohka: [present; quietly] I swear, LN, one day, we'll save Ellen and destroy you for good.

[She falls asleep]

[LN and the now-active 11-Demonoid army attack the quarry]

LN: [laughs] Spirit Soldiers, come out, come out, wherever you are!

[Back at the warehouse, Tohka's Spirit Brace beeps; Tohka wakes up]

Tohka: Go ahead.

Karen: Sorry to bother so early, but there's an attack at Tuckahoe Quarry, and it's not just one Demonoid. It's an army of 12!

Tohka: I'll warn the others. [shakes Shido] Shido, wake up.

[Shido wakes up]

Shido: [looks at the digital clock] Tohka, it's half past 6:00am. Go back to sleep.

Tohka: It's an emergency! We're needed at the quarry! Demonoids are attacking!

Shido: [jumps out of bed] You're serious?! Girls, wake up! We got work to do!

[The others wake up; Origami, Nia, Kurumi, and Miku (all wearing thin nightgowns) put on robes]

Origami: At 6:30 in the morning?

Shido: I know, but Tuckahoe Quarry is under attack.

Tohka: Karen told me there's 12 Demonoids on the move!

Kurumi: 12?!

Miku: Then we'd better get cracking!

Nia: This had better not be some kinda late Halloween prank.

Tohka: I'm sure it isn't.

Mana: [about to get out of bed] If it's an army, I'm going with you.

Shido: Not this time, Mana. Back to bed.

Kotori: Your powers are still too low.

Mana: Oh. Right. [lies back down] This sucks. I'm only trying to help.

Ryouko: Mikie and I will stand by.

Mikie: And we'll keep an eye on her.

Shido: Thanks, ladies. Let's go!

[He and his team teleport out, leaving Mana with Mikie, Mildred, and Ryouko]

[Back at the quarry, Shido and the gang teleport into the scene; LN watches her army face them from a cliff above]

LN: We meet again, Spirit Soldiers.

Tohka: LN!

LN: Did you save me any Halloween candy last night?

Shido: It's a little early in the morning for comedy, and a day too late for Halloween jokes.

LN: Well, this is no joke. Feast your eyes on my massive army!

Tohka: Shido, those Demonoids!

Kotori: I thought they were already dismantled!

Shido: Marbatron!

Origami: Mechalphas!

Nia: Buneborg!

Kurumi: Mechaback!

Yoshino: Shrinkada!

Kotori: Roborang!

Mukuro: Alphitoid!

Natsumi: Trashtick!

LN: That's right. All rebuilt, and more powerful than before.

[They all get suited up]

[Her army charges at the Spirit Soldiers, who charge right back; they break into a fight:

[Shido strikes Marbatron with his Spirit Knuckles, but Marbatron lunges at him like a lion and strikes him with his claws; Origami fires a blast from her Spirit Launcher Mechalphas to the sky; Mechalphas lands on a cliff]

Mechalphas: Time to rock your world, Whitey!

[He rolls boulders over the cliff toward Origami; Origami narrowly dodges each one, except for one, which hits her when she does not notice it]

Mechalphas: Shame I never demonstrated this in our last bout!

Buneborg: And that's just the beginning!

[He spews dragon fire from his mouth at Nia, who narrowly dodges, but a flame grazes her right knee]

Nia: [fires blasts from her slinger at Buneborg] Spirit Slinger!

[Buneborg kicks each blast out of the way]

Mechaback: [charges at Kurumi] Time to punt you!

Kurumi: [switches her rifle to blade mode] Hell's no!

[They break into a fight; Mechaback fires a barrage of football bombs at Kurumi, who knocks each one back, but they explode, pushing her back]

Shrinkada: You're mine, Blue!

Yoshino: [strikes him with her axe] Save it, small fry!

[Shrinkada smacks her back with his claws and laughs; Roborang jabs Kotori repeatedly, despite her landing blows with her lance; Mukuro strikes Alphitoid repeatedly with her halberd, but Alphitoid strikes back with his potato-like grenades, which explode upon impact, sending her flying backwards]

Mukuro: Damn you!

Trashtick: [charges at Natsumi] I'm gonna trash you!

Natsumi: [flies toward him on her broomstick] Not likely!

[She jumps off and converts her broomstick to cutlass mode and strikes him; Trashtick fires a blast from his laser cannon at Natsumi, hitting her]

Kaguya: [launches herself off her sister's shoulders] Take this, Gelloborg!

[She fires arrows from her crossbow, hitting Gelloborg, then lands on the ground]

Yuzuru: [launches herself off her sister's shoulders] Command. Fire!

[She fires arrows from her crossbow, hitting Gelloborg, then lands on the ground]

Gelloborg: You two make me really mad!

[She fires two flaming red missiles at the twins, who narrowly dodge them, but hit the ground]

Kaguya: Damn, that was rough. You okay?

Yuzuru: Reply. Yes. Just a little winded.

Miku: [strums the strings on her shamisen] Can you handle this tune, Voxoid?

[Her shamisen fires loud sound waves at Voxoid, who dodges the blast and strikes Miku with his harpoon]

Tohka: [fights Mormoid with her saber] As soon as I'm through with you, LN's mine!

Mormoid: [punches Tohka back] You won't get the chance!

[She lifts Tohka up and throws her back to her teammates; the Spirit Soldiers get back on their feet]

Tohka: LN was right. They really are more powerful than they used to be.

Shido: There's so many of them, I don't think combining our weapons will do much good.

LN: Enough of this foolishness. Giga Beam!

[She fires a beam from her handheld Giga Beam laser at herself and her Demonoid army; all 12 Demonoids enlarge]

Shido: Is that all you got?!

All 12 Spirit Soldiers: Send in the Sephira Voyagers!

[Their Sephira Voyagers fly into the scene; the Spirit Soldiers jump into the cockpits]

Shido: Spirit Soldiers, open fire!

[The Sephira Voyagers fire their lasers at the Demonoids; LN's army shields her from the blasts and take the hit]

Tohka: Let's see her handle another Line Strike!

[The Sephira Voyagers form a line and glow]

LN: Hold your fire, Spirit Soldiers! Or do you feel like hurting the children?

[The voyagers stop glowing]

Shido: What? There's no children around here.

LN: You can't see them, but you should know that each of these Demonoids are powered by a child we abducted.

Kotori: Crew, run a scan on those Demonoids and see if she's bluffing.

[Cut back to the Fraxinus; the crew runs a scan on LN's Demonoid army; inside each of them is a child, crying for help and in pain; the crew is horrified]

Karen: Those are the missing children!

MARIA: And they're really in pain!

Elliot: Who would've thought the Demonoids would stoop to a new low?

[Cut back to the quarry]

Kotori: [from Sephira Voyager Red] Guys, we have to hold our fire. If we fire a finishing blow, LN will use those Demonoids as a human shield, and if they're destroyed, the kids will die.

[The other Spirit Soldiers gasp in horror]

LN: You catch on pretty quickly, Spirit Soldiers. Unfortunately, as long as I have my army, you can't get near me! FIRE!

[All 12 Demonoids fire missiles at the Sephira Voyagers, hitting them and causing them to plummet to the ground]

Nia: We can't save the kids like this!

LN: You can't save them, period! That is, unless you beat me, which I doubt!

Ellen: [inside LN] SCUM! Let the children go!

LN: [growls] I forgot about this one. But if I destroy her, I'll lose my main power source. [sighs] Can't let that bother me now. I'm more powerful than she is.

[She swings her sword, firing a massive wave of demonic energy at the Sephira Voyagers, hitting them; the Spirit Soldiers fly out of the cockpits and land on the ground]

LN: Look at you all, helpless and hopeless. Surrender to me, and I'll release the children. If not, your only hope of saving them is to defeat me. But you can't do that without getting through my army!

Shido: We can't leave without getting those kids back! [to his Spirit Brace] Elliot, we need backup fast!

Elliot: I'll have to send for Mana. This is a job for an electrifying CR-Unit. In the meantime, keep the Demonoids occupied with the Sephira Racer.

Shido: Roger. Send in the Sephira Racer!

[The Sephira Racer races into the scene]

Tohka: Hold it, Shido. Let me take 'em.

Shido: Go get 'em, Tohka.

[Tohka jumps aboard the Sephira Racer; the Sephira Racer enlarges and converts to Battle Formation; it charges at LN, but the Demonoid army blocks its path; the Sephira Racer fights them]

Tohka: You really are a coward, LN! If you wanna beat us, you have to fight us yourself!

LN: You're already outnumbered. If you do wanna destroy me, you have to destroy them first.

Tohka: No. My intent is to simply immobilize these Demonoids before I can get to you.

[The Demonoid army has the Sephira Racer surrounded no matter how hard the racer tries to break through]

LN: If you can! But if you really insist on wanting me to fight, I'll gladly grant your wish.

[She fires a missile at the Sephira Racer, hitting it]

LN: I've got more where that came from!

[Suddenly, Mana (in her CR-Unit Murakumo) flies into the scene and strikes LN before she can fire again]

LN: You again!

Mana: Surprised, eh, LN?

LN: Back to troll us once again. You damn little traitor!

Mana: You dare to use 11 innocent children as insurance?! You sick bitch!

[She dashes toward the Demonoid army empowered by lightning]

Mana: Cloud Piercer!

[She strikes the army with her blades, then fires laser beams from the base of the blades at LN, hitting her; the army becomes electrified and immobilized]

LN: No! Not my army!

Mana: [flies back to the ground and reverts to normal] That should give my brother and friends enough time to break your spell! Big Brother, the crew wants you to combine all your mecha! Mildred's come up with a new combination.

Shido: We'll do that, Mana. Thanks! Ladies, you heard her!

[He and the others board their Sephira Voyagers; all 12 take back to the sky and combine to form the Sephira Ultra Robo]

Spirit Soldiers: Combine!

[The Sephira Racer converts to armor, which attaches to the Sephira Ultra Robo]

[Cut to the cockpit with all 12 Spirit Soldiers]

Spirit Soldiers: Sephira Max Robo!

[Cut back outside]

LN: Huh?! Where did that come from?!

Tohka: [from the Sephira Max Robo] That's for us Spirit Soldiers to know and for you Demonoids never to find out!

LN: [charges at the new mecha] DIE!!

[She swings her blade, but the Sephira Max Robo intercepts with its Sephira Ultra Spear and the Sephira Racer's saber, then knocks LN backwards]

Shido: Time to show her what this new combo truly is made of! Engines, online!

[The Sephira Max Robo's engines roar as it races toward LN in hyperspeed]

LN: [charges at the Sephira Max Robo with all her might] I'm the strongest Demonoid general! I won't lose to you!

Spirit Soldiers: Sephira Max Tornado Strike!

[The Sephira Max Robo spins around and strikes LN with its weapons, electrifying her]

LN: This is not the end of it!

[The Sephira Max Robo attaches both weapons to each others' bases]

Spirit Soldiers: Sephira Max Lance, full power!

[The lance glows brightly as it powers up to maximum levels; the Sephira Max Robo raises it to the sky]

Spirit Soldiers: Maximum Double Slash! FINAL ATTACK!

[The Sephira Max Robo bisects LN with the sword end of its lance, then does the same with the spear end; LN screams]

LN: NO!! My beautiful plan! Ruined in an instant!

[She falls to the ground, engulfing in a massive explosion; the incapacitated Demonoid army vanishes; on the ground, the 11 missing children reappear, completely unharmed and look up at the Sephira Max Robo]

Children: Thank you, Spirit Soldiers!

[Cut back to the cockpit; the Spirit Soldiers cheer, then jump out of the cockpit; squad cars enter the scene; police officers come out]

Shido: Okay, officers. They're all yours.

Tohka: Make sure they all get home safely.

[The cops nod and guide the children to their cars; the Spirit Soldiers turn to LN's body in pieces]

Tohka: LN's spell may be broken, but I don't think she's done yet.

[One of LN's Demonoid chips emerges, reassembles the damaged others, and then they all reassemble LN]

LN: You might've killed me for good had you chosen to attack me with your Emission Strike.

Shido: Not so long as you have that being inside you. We're not supposed to destroy you until then.

LN: Well, since you came up with a new mecha formation that I, the strongest Demonoid general, can't beat, I have no choice but to take you all on and make you submit to my master, even if I have to kill myself!

Origami: We won't allow that! Let's combine our weapons!

[The Spirit Soldiers combine their weapons to form the Sephira Bazooka and the Sephira Buster]

Spirit Soldiers: FIRE!

[Both weapons fire blasts at LN, who reflects them right back with her blade; the Spirit Soldiers take the blasts and are sent flying; they land on the ground and revert to normal]

LN: Had enough? Or are you hungry for more?

[Tohka gets back on her feet and detaches her saber from the Sephira Bazooka]

Tohka: Shido, leave this bitch-bot to me. I'll weaken her enough to set Ellen free.

Shido: Be careful, Tohka.

[Tohka charges at LN; both fight with their swords]

Tohka: I won't lose to you! I beat your original self before. You're just a Demonoid. You're nothing compared to Ellen!

LN: I'm 10 times the powerhouse Ellen was!

[She strikes Tohka with her blade; Tohka strikes back with her saber, cutting her blade-mounted arm off; the arm quickly reattaches]

LN: [laughs] Gotta give you props, Violet. You've certainly improved yourself.

Tohka: Your half-assed flattery don't charge my batteries. Sephira Slash!

[She strikes LN with her glowing saber, electrifying her; Tohka falls to her knees in exhaustion]

LN: Regardless, you're like a broken record. I'll destroy you, even if I have to go down with you!

[She is about to grab Tohka, when suddenly, she starts writhing in pain]

LN: No! Not this again!

[The being inside her starts to ooze out of her again; the being holds out a hand]

Shido: Don't move, Tohka. You're still not in good shape.

Ellen: Let me out!

Tohka: Shido, that voice!

Shido: Ellen? Is that you?!

Ellen: Help me!

[Shido grabs Ellen's hand; LN tries to pull her back inside]

LN: No! I won't let you escape me! You're my only means of existence!

Ellen: Let me go!

[Shido and LN struggle to pull Ellen]

Shido: I know you've done some awful things in the past, Ellen, but only because DEM made you do it! I'm not gonna let you go through that anymore!

Ellen: Shido... Itsuka...

LN: [raises her blade] I will not allow this! Let her go at once!

Shido: Never!

LN: Then you leave me no choice.

[She is about to strike when Mana jumps in and punches her in the face, causing her to lose her grip]

Shido: Mana!

Mana: [grabs onto Shido] No time to chat! We gotta save Ellen fast!

Shido: Right! HEAVE!

Mana: HO!

[With all their might, they finally pull Ellen out of LN and land on the ground; inside LN, her chips become short-circuited; outside, the glow comes to a stop, revealing Ellen Mira Mathers herself, completely naked and her hair down; she straddles Shido and pants heavily]

Shido: [sits up] Ellen, are you okay?

Ellen: I'm so cold. [slowly wraps her arms around Shido] Please warm me up.

[Shido blushes in embarrassment and gently hugs Ellen; Tohka pouts for a moment, then sighs]

Tohka: I'll let this one pass. She was in danger.

[She gets back on her feet and turns to the weakened LN]

Tohka: But as for you, LN, it's time to finish the job! Sephira, GO!

[She gets suited up]

Tohka: Reiryoku Armor, energize!

[She gets equipped with Reiryoku Armor and points the charging Reiryoku Cannon at LN]

LN: I must destroy Ellen at once!

[She charges at Ellen with her blade]

Tohka: FIRE!

[The cannon fires a massive burst of spiritual energy at LN, hitting her hard]

Tohka: It's over! Sephira Saber!

[Her Sephira Saber glows brightly; Tohka jumps up; LN looks up in shock]

LN: No! I don't wanna die like this!

Tohka: Super Sephira Slash!!

[With all her might, she bisects LN with her saber, electrifying her; LN screams]

LN: Damn you, Spirit Soldiers! You may have finally defeated LN, Westcott's #1 Demonoid, but be assured that he will avenge me!

[She splits in half, falls to the ground, and engulfs in a massive explosion; after the smoke clears, there is nothing left of LN; Tohka reverts to normal]

Tohka: Termination complete. So long, LN.

[She walks up to Shido, Mana, and Ellen; the rest of the gang joins them]

Ellen: Is she gone?

Tohka: Yep. There's nothing left of her. Once you broke out, all her chips were disabled.

Mana: You're in good hands now.

Ellen: Thanks to Shido.

[She turns to Shido and suddenly faints in his arms]

Mana: She must be exhausted.

Kotori: Welcome back, Ellen. [turns to Shido] Hey. Good job, bro.

Shido: Thanks, but Tohka deserves much of the credit. She did the job of beating LN. [to his Spirit Brace] Elliot, LN's history and we got Ellen back. She needs medical attention.

Elliot: Excellent work, Spirit Soldiers. Teleporting now.

[The gang gets teleported out with Ellen]

[Back at Neo-DEM HQ, the other Demonoids have seen it all]

Nervadrone: I don't believe it!

JB: LN! [falls to her knees] She can't be gone! [growls] Those damn Spirit Soldiers will pay for this!

Westcott: [enters] What's happened? And where's LN?

JB: She's gone, sir. Spirit Soldier Gold took her power source away, then Violet destroyed what was left of her. And all the children she captured escaped, alive.

Westcott: [sighs] She will be avenged. JB, you're second in command now. The rest of you, make sure to follow her orders to a T. Understood?

Other Demonoids: Yes, sir.

[ZIEG growls quietly, then returns to his office]

Nervadrone: What's with him?

JB: Just leave him alone.

[In his office, ZIEG slams his fist on his desk]

ZIEG: The title of second in command should be mine! I'm Westcott's first Demonoid! And this is how they treat me?! And not to mention, as long as Westcott's in charge, I can't get my revenge. No one deserves the honor of killing Spirit Soldier Gold and his real sister but me.

[He has flashbacks of a blue-haired couple back in the late 60s]

ZIEG: The primary reminder of those that betrayed me.

[Back to the present]

ZIEG: I will not allow Westcott to seize the opportunity. He can settle for the others. But no. He wants them all. I know I am who I am now because of him, but he only made me this way to further his own agenda. Not mine. I swear, I will get my revenge, no matter what it takes. [clenches his fist] And Westcott must accept this.

[Fraxinus EX, 7:44am]

[Ellen lies down unconscious on the bed; Karen runs a scan]

Karen: Vital signs are normal, no trace of abnormalities. [turns to the others] Her condition is stable. She's good to go.

Shido: Thank God.

Karen: There is a possibility there may be residual effects, but if there are, let's just pray that they're not related to the Demonoids.

[She gets out of her seat and walks up to Ellen, who opens her eyes]

Ellen: Karen...

Karen: My dear sister, welcome home.

[They embrace]

Tohka: Ellen.

[Ellen turns to Shido's group]

Ellen: It's you. Shido Itsuka. Tohka Yatogami. All of you.

Shido: We're glad you're okay, Ellen.

Ellen: Glad? Even after all I did to you before?

Tohka: You were under duress in the past. That's ancient history.

Kotori: But what really gets me is how you got trapped inside LN in the first place.

Ellen: It's like this.

[She has a flashback, coming out of the Raizen High School building]

Ellen: [present] Two and a half years ago, I was on my way home from work at Raizen High School, when suddenly, Prescott Vorstein sent an army of Demonitron to capture me.

[An army of Demonitron grabs Ellen]

Ellen: [flashback] What are you doing?! Let go of me!

[The Demonitron get transported through a demonic circle with Ellen in tow; they reappear on board the Nickar submarine and present Ellen to Westcott (back when he was known as Mechike) and Prescott]

Mechike: You belong to us now, Ellen Mira Mathers.

Ellen: What do you want with me?!

Prescott: You're the key to the empowerment of Mechike's new secretary. Behold!

[LN enters slowly]

LN: I am LN, loyal secretary to Sir Mechike. [grabs LN] And you... are all mine.

[She starts to absorb Ellen]

Ellen: [present] LN absorbed me to become her main source of power, the only one capable of powering her computer chips.

Ellen: [flashback] No! I won't let you! Help me! Somebody help!

[She gets fully absorbed within LN; LN glows, gains a new blade, and laughs maniacally]

Ellen: [present] The absorption was complete. I became a part of LN.

[Back to the present]

Ellen: I'd been stuck inside for two years. Then LN started to sustain so much damage that I'd found the means to escape. But it wasn't enough. But once Tohka brought LN to her moment of weakness, I finally had the strength to reach out to one of you. [turns to Shido] I never thought it'd be you. Bless your heart, Shido Itsuka.

[She gives Shido a kiss on the lips, much to the shock of the girls in his group]

Shido: Ellen...

Tohka and Origami: A kiss?!

Ellen: This thank-you kiss is just the beginning. I might never be able to repay you in full. Not just for all the terrible things I've done to you before, but for saving my life today.

Shido: Well, we still have to save your uncle and cousin from the Demonoids' control.

Ellen: I know. I'll do what I can to help you save them. I should never have joined DEM in the first place. Then they wouldn't be where they are now.

[Her stomach growls]

Ellen: Damn, I'm starving.

Mana: [holds out her hand] You're welcome to join us for breakfast.

Ellen: Thank you, Mana. I'd be honored.

[She and Mana shake hands; Ellen gets out of the bed]

Ellen: But first, I need a good change of clothes.

Karen: [leads Ellen out of the infirmary] I think we still have some of your clothes in the wardrobe.

[Tohka and Origami fume]

Tohka: I understand she wanted to thank Shido, but did she have to kiss him?

Origami: Tell me about it. She's got some nerve.

Kotori: Fine time to start a catfight, you two. Ellen's had enough fighting for a while.

Miku: She's one of the family now.

Yoshino: Plus, she might make a good nanny for the babies.

Yoshinon: Can't let Karen handle all the heavy work while we're on the job.

Tohka: Okay, we get it.

Origami: You're right. Shido already has about a dozen women in his life. What's the point of petty jealousy?

Shido: Good girls.

[Back at the warehouse, breakfast is on the table; the Exceeds, the Chipmunks, and the Chipettes await; Shido's group enters via the orbital elevator]

Alvin: Nice of you guys to finally show up.

Tomoe: Don't want your breakfast to get cold.

Shido: Sorry for the delay. We had to help out a friend. We also invited her to join in.

[Right behind the gang beside her sister is Ellen Mira Mathers herself (completely dressed)]


Tohka: Guys, meet Ellen.

Ellen: Hello, everyone.

Tor: Welcome, Ellen.

Alvin: Glad you're back.

Brittany: You're just in time for breakfast.

Julie: You must be famished.

[Ellen takes a seat beside Brittany]

Ellen: So you were one of LN's first opponents. Ellen Mathers.

Brittany: Brittany Miller.

[She and Ellen shake hands]

Brittany: Sorry you'd been trapped in LN for so long.

Ellen: It's all in the past. [pats Brittany on the head] I think this could be the start of a nice friendship.

Brittany: [giggles] I think so, too. There's a whole lot that's happened while you were trapped.

[Everyone continues chattering as they have their breakfast]


Origami: Next time: The Ashcroft Operation.
