ACME WoF - Episode 6

Eris: Hey, everyone! The show's almost starting!

Kio: So don't forget to watch in a brightly-lit room, and don't sit too close to the monitor.

[Showtime!]

Audience: WHEEL OF FORTUNE!!!

[Cheers and applause]

Alvin: The famous wheel is spinning your way towards thousands of dollars in cash! And now from the ACME Studios, here’s the stars of our show, Jonathan Mann!

Jon: [enters HQ] WHOO!!!

Alvin: And iKing!

iKing: [enters HQ] Hello and welcome!

[Cheers and applause]

Jon: Hello, and happy pre-Thanksgiving! Welcome to Wheel of Fortune--ACME Crime Net's way! I am assuming you folks at home are getting ready for your Thanksgiving dinner.

iKing: Before we begin our show today, our next show will be our last show of 2017.

Jon: That is correct, iKing. And next time we get together, one of my favorite holiday movies is celebrating it's 25th Anniversary this year.

iKing: And our next episode will center around that film. We'll cross that bridge when we get to it.

Jon: Right now, we got three contestants who are getting those puzzle solving skills ready to win lots of C-A-S-H for the holidays. So, Alvin, are you ready to do your thing?

Alvin: Yes, I am!

Jon: Who are today's contestants?

Alvin: Our first contestant is an avid poet and hopes to visit Washington D.C. From Harlem, meet Naomi Symone!

Our second contestant loves writing stories and enjoys volleyball. From Staten Island, meet Amanda-Sue Gobi!

He's into video games and animes and hopes to voice in one someday. From Upper Manhatthan, meet Yuhan Dan!

[Applause]

Jon: Contestants, are you ready to play?

Contestants: Yes!

Jon: Let's look at our wheel.

There’s hundreds of dollars in cash waiting to be won. You spin the wheel, guess a letter. If that letter’s in the puzzle, the money will be added to your bank. Guess a letter that's not in the puzzle, you lose your turn. If you solve the puzzle, the money is banked to your total. But be careful of those two black and white spaces. Lose a Turn – which means you land on that, your turn is over automatically. And finally, the Bankrupt.

[Audience boos]

Jon: Yeah. Land on that, all of the money in the round goes away. If you have no money and if the other player has money, a wedge will be able to help you out. It's called Power.

iKing: POWER!!!

Jon: Land on that wedge, guess the correct letter, and you can steal whatever money the player has in the round. And finally, we have Free Spin, if at anytime you lose your turn, you get a free one. We’ll explain more about that as we go along. Whoever has the most cash at the end of the game, will play for a chance to win up to 10x their total. Right now, let’s take a look at our first puzzle of the day. iKing?

iKing: The category is Food and Drink.

Jon: We need two commas, and an ampersand.
[_ _ _ _ _ _  , _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ,
&  _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _   _ _ _ _ _]

Jon: There's the puzzle. Naomi, you won the coin-toss backstage. Spin that wheel.

[Naomi spins]

[$0]

Jon: Okay, no money. But keeps your turn.

Naomi: Is there a M?

iKing: I don't believe it. There are none of those in the puzzle! Good.

Jon: Amanda-Sue, your turn.

[Amanda-Sue spins]

[$250]

Amanda-Sue: R.

iKing: Well, what do you know. There's a quartet of R's in there.

[_ _ R _ _ _  , _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ,
&  _ R _ _ _ _ R R _   _ _ _ _ _]

Jon: $1,000 to your total. You can buy a vowel, spin the wheel, or solve the puzzle.

Amanda-Sue: I am going to buy a vowel. A.

iKing: A pair of A's.

[_ _ R _ _ _  , _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ,
&  _ R A _ _ _ R R _   _A_ _ _ _]

Jon: Takes you down to $750.

Jon: That's it!

[Applause]

[TURKEY, STUFFING
& CRANBERRY SAUCE]

iKing: Nice work! You solved the puzzle like a professional.

Jon: $3,350 added to your total. Let's take look at the wheel for our next round.

The top dollar value on the wheel is $1,000. And we’ve added another Bankrupt. This time it’s called a Super Bankrupt.

[Audience boos]

Jon: Each spin, you’ll be risking everything you won up to that point, even in the previous round. If you land on that wedge, your money goes to the Car Rental Agent before Neal will be doing a lot of swears at him.

[Laughter!]

Jon: What's our next puzzle, iKing?

iKing: The category is Event.

Jon: We need an apostrophe.

[_ _ _ _ ' _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

Jon: There's the puzzle. And Amanda-Sue, give that wheel a rotation.

[Amanda-Sue spins]

[$100]

Amanda-Sue: R.

iKing: What do you know? There's one.

[Applause]

Jon: Is there an Y?

[He and Naomi go to the bonus round where Ash (holding a tray of envelopes) awaits]

Ash:Yo, Jonny boy!

Jon: Hiya, Ash. No Pikachu today?

Ash: He's at the Pokemon Center getting a check-up.

Jon: That's good. Anyway, Ash has tray of envelopes. Ten of them in all. Each of these contains a multiplier. Five of them have a double, two of them have triple, two have quadruple. But only one of them will increase your total to over a quarter of a million dollars.

[Applause]

Jon: Choose an envelope and good luck.

[Naomi picks an envelope off the tray]

Ash: Let's hope it's the 10. Good luck! [leaves]

Jon: All right, Naomi. It's to do one last puzzle. What's the category, iKing?

iKing: The category is People. And remember People does not always mean Proper Name.

[_ _ _ _    _ _ _ _]

Jon: R-S-T-L-N-E.

[_ _ R _   _ _ _ L]

Jon: Well, let's hope for the best here. Three consonants and one vowel.

Naomi: D-M-G-I.

[Silence]

[Audience groans]

Jon: Well, no letters are appearing. You have to do this on your own. Studio audience, no help from you. Naomi, fifteen seconds on the clock. Say as many people as you can. Good luck.

[Naomi thinks about the puzzle]

Naomi: Oh, no! I have no idea.

[BUZZER!] (time's up!)

Jon: Sometimes bonus puzzles may be hard to solve. What was it?

[JURY POOL]

[Audience groans]

Jon: I am so sorry. Now, we have to open the envelope and find out what would have happened. [opens the envelope and looks at] Oh, no! Oh, no!

[shows the envelope to the camera...]

[10x]

Naomi: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!

[Audeince groans even louder]

Jon: Yeah. You have walked away with a quarter of a million dollars. But hey, you got one-quarter of a hundred thousand. $25,600!

Naomi: It's better than nothing though.

Jon: It sure is. Thank you, Naomi. [to the camera] That was a heartbreaker. Well, that's our show for today. Next time we get together, we will be doing a special show in honor of the 25th anniversary of a popular holiday film with some special guests. It's a show you don't want to miss. From iKing, Alvin, and Ash, this is Jon Mann reminding you to have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving and keep on spinnin' and solving!

All: Happy Thanksgiving!
