ACME Wheel - Season 2 Premiere

Rated TV-PG (CC; Stereo)

Tomoe: We're about to start the the season premiere of ACME Wheel, everyone!

Tor: Just make sure your room is brightly lit, and that you're not too close to the monitor.

[Jon gets out of a Ford Fiesta with a key that starts a car]

Jon: These set of keys start this Ford Fiesta. [grabs a bowl of four keys and puts in the key and mix them up] But four of them do not. One of our contestants could be driving this car home, today on the season premiere of....!

Audience: WHEEL....OF....FORTUNE!!!

[Cheers and applause]

Sarah: The famous wheel is spinning your way towards thousands of dollars in cash! And now from the ACME Studios here are the stars of our the season premiere of ACME Wheel, Jonathan Mann!

Jon: [enters HQ] Oh yeah!

Sarah: And the troublemaking raccoon himself...Freddie!

Freddie: [enters HQ] Yes, sir!

Jon: Hi, everybody! Summer's over. Reruns are over. Vacation is over! Welcome to an all new season of ACME Wheel of Fortune. The game you loved ACME's way. Now as Alvin mentioned Freddie, he's my new side-kick.

Freddie: What's up everybody?

Jon: Freddie and I are best buds ever since we named him my co-host. We enjoyed having so much fun together over the summer.

Freddie: You bet. And now, we've put our camping gear away for an all new ACME season.

Jon: We've made some exciting changes this season. You can not only win cash but also a brand new car!

[Audience reacts]

Jon: We'll get to more details on that in a second. But that not all, one of our contestants in Rounds 2 or 3 could be spinning the wheel for you for some cash in our new home player spin!

[Applause]

Jon: But first, let's meet our first three contestants of the season. Sarah?

[Now to the contestants]

Sarah: Contestant #1 likes to play soccer, baseball, and enjoys going to the movies. From Passiac, New Jersey, meet Evan Lutehoo!

She's into ventinary and hopes to be one just like her mother. From Brooklyn, meet Nancy Dasken!

He's into football and loves to become a referee someday. From Cape May, New Jersey, meet Ronald Buscher!

[Applause]

Jon: Contestants, welcome to the show. Here's how we play the game. Let's take a look at our wheel.

There’s hundreds of dollars in cash waiting to be won. You spin the wheel, guess a letter. If that letter’s in the puzzle, the money will be added to your bank. Guess a letter that's not in the puzzle, you lose your turn. If you solve the puzzle, the money is banked to your total. But be careful of those two black and white spaces. Lose a Turn – land on that, your turn is over automatically. And finally, the Bankrupt.

[Audience boos]

Jon: Land on that, all of the money in the round will be depleted. If you have no money and if the other player has money, a wedge will be able to help you out. It's called Power.

Julie: POWER!!!

Jon: Land on that wedge, guess the correct letter, and you can steal whatever money the player has in the round. And finally, we have Free Spin, if at anytime you lose your turn, you get a free one. We’ll explain more about that as we go along. And new for this season, you can win a brand new car. Here's how this works. If you win the game and end up solving the bonus puzzle, you will have a chance to win a brand new car. You can win up to three extra chances. All you have to do is land on the CAR wedge, guess a correct letter, solve the puzzle and you will get an extra chance. Up to four chances to win the car are at stake. Player who has the most money at the end of the game will go on to play the bonus round for a shot at up to 10x their winnings and the car!

[Applause]

Jon: Let's look at our first puzzle of the season.

Freddie: The category is Things.

Jon: There's an ampersand in the puzzle.

[He and Evan go to the Bonus Round where Julie (holding a tray of envelopes) awaits]

Julie: Hi, Evan. Hi, Jon!

Jon: All right, Evan. You've already won $8,850. Now, here's your chance to increase your winnings. Julie has a tray of ten envelopes each containing a multiplier. Four of those envelopes doubles your money. Three of them triples. Two of them quadruples your winnings. Only one will decouple your winnings to $88,500. If you solve the bonus puzzle, not only you will increase your earnings but you will also get a chance to win a brand new car. But for now, let's choose an envelope.

[Evan takes an envelope off of the tray]

Julie: Good luck. [walks to the puzzleboard]

Jon: All right, Evan. It's time to work on a puzzle. Freddie, what's our category?

[The timer is set at ten seconds]

Jon: We're gonna give you ten seconds to talk it out. Use the used letterboard if you have to. Good luck.

[As Evan stutters]

Evan: Fireland?

[BUZZER!] (time's up!)

Jon: Well, you were on the right track. Let's see what it is.

[FARMLAND]

Evan: Oh!

Jon: Farmland is what we're looking for. I am so sorry. Now just for the record, we're gonna open the envelope and see what would have happened. [opens the envelope to reveal:] And you would have doubled your money. But you had a great day. You're taking home $8,850. We thank you for being here.

Evan: You're welcome, Jon.

Jon: So we couldn't play the car game today. But hey, Freddie, we had a great first episode of the season!

Freddie: We did.

Jon: Next week, Captain Greg Lee and Rockapella will have three more contestants spinning the wheel and solvin' puzzles for a cash and a brand new car. From Sarah, Julie, and Freddie, this is Jonathan Mann saying "Keep on spinnin' and keep on solvin'!"
