ACME Wheel - Episode 28

Imari: Hi, everybody! ACME Wheel's about to begin Don't forget to watch in a brightly-lit room, and don't sit too close to your screen.

[Jon gets out of a car...]

Jon: I have a key to this Honda Civic. 

[He gives the key to Alvin who puts it in a jar with four other keys and mixes it up]

Alvin: And the key is put in with four others that do not start the car. This car could belong to one of our contestants. Today on...!

All: WHEEL...OF...FORTUNE!!!

[Cheers and applause]

Alvin: The famous wheel is spinning your way towards thousands of dollars in cash! And now from the ACME Studios, here are the stars of our show, the craziest and outrageous raccoon, Freddie!

Freddie: [enters HQ] WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Alvin: And Jonathaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaann!!

Jon: [enters HQ] Hey, hey, hey!

[Applause]

Jon: Hi, everybody. Welcome to the show. A special shorten episode of ACME Wheel due to the pledge drive.

Freddie: We encourage you to donate to your local public television station: Viewers Like You.

Jon: Eggs-actly! Old man winter is gone, we are now in Spring. After our show today, we will be going off the air for about a month before coming back for our final episodes of the season which will be the last ones with the three player format.

Freddie: And after those final episodes of the season, it's summertime! My favorite season. 

Jon: Mine too. Right now, we got two contestants who will be spinning their towards big bucks and maybe a new car. And I know the guy who is gonna introduce them.

Freddie: Who?

Jon: Alvin. 

[Now to the contestants]

Alvin: You are correct, Jon. Our first player enjoys basketball, softball, and cheerleading. From West Orange, New Jersey, say hello to Jessie Sparanio!

She speaks French, Spanish, and English, and enjoys figure skating. From the Bronx, meet Emma Cesilon!

[Applause]

Jon: All right, ladies. You ready to play the game?

Contestants: Yes!

Jon: Good. Let's take a look at our wheel.



Jon: Remember we are playing Rounds 1, 2, and the Big Money Round today. Here is our first puzzle.

Freddie: The category is Landmark.

Jon: $225. Not enough for a vowel yet. Spin it again.

Freddie: Because we like you, there are three G's in the puzzle! OMG! You are looking in good shape.

Jessie: I'm solving!

Jon: Well done, Jessie! $2,475. Emma, you can get on the board in the next round. Let's put the Super Bankrupt on the wheel.

Freddie: Can't give you a C. Emma, it's your turn.

Freddie: Oh, mighty Alvin.

Alvin: Yes, Freddie?

Freddie: Is there a D?

Alvin: BUZZ!!!

Freddie: No. Back to Jessie.

Jessie: I like to buy a vowel.

Jon: You can't buy a vowel yet. Spin the wheel please.

[Jessie spins]

Jessie: M.

Freddie: One M.

Jon: You're up to $375. You now have enough to buy a vowel.

Jessie: I like to buy a vowel. An A as in Alvin.

Alvin: Why thank you, Jessie. There are three A's.

Jon: I love when they call letters as one of our ACME group's first names. You're down to $125. That's all the vowel buying you can do for now. Spin or solve?

[Jessie spins]

[Jessie spins again]

[As the wheel is at $400...]

Jon: Uh-oh! Stop...stop!

[Lose A Turn]

Freddie: Well, Jessie, what do you have to say for yourself?

Jessie: My turn is over.

Freddie: The answer is yes. Emma, it's your turn.

Emma: I like to buy a vowel. An E.

Freddie: Wouldn't you know it? There's one E.

[Laughter!]

Jon: Vowels actually.

Alvin: You and Freddie are funny!

Jon: Anyway, Emma, you have $1,400. Spin or solve?

Emma: I need the money! [spins]

Jon: Two V's.

Jon: Nope. That is not correct.

Emma: Darn!

Jon: Jessie, wanna take a crack at it?

Jessie: OLIVIA FLAVERSHAM.

Jon: Yeah.

[Applause]

Jon: Basil may said Olivia's last name wrong. But her last name is pronounced Flaversham. Not Flavasham. Well, Jessie, you've won $525, combined with the $2,475 from earlier. You now have an even $3,000. Emma, the Big Money Round could help you win the game. Let's get to that right now.



Jon: Freddie, spin the wheel please.

[Freddie spins]

[Applause]

Jon: Congratulations! Emma, sorry things work out here. We are gonna give you $500 and our thanks for being here.

Emma: Thank you.

Jon: Well, Jessie, come on over!

[He and Jessie go to the Bonus Round where Alvin (holding a tray of envelopes) awaits]

Alvin: Good work, Jessie.

Jon: Okay, Jessie. You know what's on that tray in Alvin's hands. Pick an envelope and we will see if we can double, triple, quad, or decouple for $6,450.

[Jessie takes an envelope off the tray]

Jon: Very well. Now, let's work on this puzzle.

Freddie: The category is Person. And remember Person does not always mean proper name.

Jon: R-S-T-L-N-E. Let's see if any of those are up there.

[_ _ _ E S T E R]

Jon: Oh boy! Only three letters left to fill. Give me three more consonants and a vowel.

Jessie: C-J-P-O.

Jon: Ooooookay.

Jon: Well, I think you have enough help to figure out this puzzle.

[The timer is set at ten seconds]

Jon: Ten seconds to talk it out. Good luck!

Jessie: JOKESTER!

Jon: Yes! Yes! Yes!

[Cheers and applause]

[JOKESTER]

Jon: All right, Jessie, let's open that envelope!

Jessie: [opens the envelope] DOUBLE!

[Cheers and applause]

Alvin: Jessie, you have doubled your money to $12,900!

Jon: And more importantly, you are now eligible to play for....

Alvin: A NEW CAR!!!

[Layla, Hunter, Julie,  Imari, and Sora (each holding a key) entetr HQ]

Jon: Here we have our two ACME lieutenants, Layla and Hunter, along with three other girls: Julie, Imari, and Sora. Each of them has a key. One of them start this! Alvin?



Alvin: It's a Honda Civic!

[Applause]

Alvin: This Honda Civic LX features a 2.0 Liter Engine, CVT Transmission, alloy wheels, premium sound system, and gets up to 38 highway miles to the gallon! It's a Honda Civic!

Jon: That car is worth $22,250. Now, Jessie, which of these folks has the key to the car?

Jessie: Hunter.

Jon: Hunter, come on up and give Jessie your key.

[Hunter gives Jessie his key]

Jon:  Okay, Jessie. On the count of three, I would like to push the button. If the car alarm goes off, you have won the car. Ready?

Jessie: Yes.

Jon: Studio audience, are you ready?

Audience: Yes!

Jon: Alvin, are you ready?

Alvin: Yes!

Jon: Here we go!

[DRUMROLL!]

All: One....two....THREE!

[Jessie pushes the button and...]

[DA-DA-DUN-DA-DA-DUUUUUUUUUUUUUN WAAAAAAAAAAAAA!]

[Audience groans]

Jon: NO! Okay, TVLubber, whose key was it?

Nick: Imari.

Jon: Imari, just push the button please.

[Imari pushes the button on her key and the car alarm goes off]

Jon: Yeah. Bad news is, Jessie, you didn't win the car. Good news is that you're leaving here with $12,900.

Jessie: Thank you, Jon.

Jon: Spend that money wisely.

[Freddie enters HQ]

Jon: Well, we are going to be off the air during lent. You will be seeing reruns of our show in addition to our popular Easter classics during the next month. 

Freddie: And we will be back on the air after Easter to wrap up the season.

Jon: Stay tuned. Your public television station is presenting you with a pledge break. We encourage you to donate to your station. TV is worth watching! Go public!

Freddie: Yes! Go public!

Jon: From all of us here at ACME, this is Jonathan Mann saying keep on spinnin' and solvin'. And Freddie?

Freddie: Yes.

Jon: The snow is gone so how about we roll on the grass.

Freddie: Yes.
