Jack: And then I ask: "Do you like me?" And then she said: "No. But that's a nice beanie!".

[The other parents laugh]

Luci: I seriously don't get what your dad's joking about, Anna.

Anna: You'll understand when you're old enough, Luci.

Ken: That's Jack Baron for ya.

[The Chipmunks and the Chipettes enter the lounge]

Simon: So this is where Sora told us to meet her?

Jeanette: Why do you think she gave us tickets to the pre-show party?

Brittany: Check out this turnout.

Eleanor: Hey, isn't that Jack Baron?

Theodore: Anna invited her dad?

Alvin: And her mom, too. Look, there's Rosetta's mom! And Layla's dad!

Simon: Did Ken really have to bring his family along?

Jeanette: And there's May's brothers and sisters.

Brittany: And Cathy Taymor! No surprise she'd be here, since she's on the directing team for the show.

Jeanette: What about that couple there?

Alvin: Oh, that's Mute and Alice. Sora met them in the Circus Festival. And those guys with Pamela-- You remember her friends from Theatrical Camp, don't you?

Theodore: Never forgot them.

Alvin: Hey, Sora!

[They approach Sora, who is talking with Jerry and Kate]

Sora: Hi, Alvin! I knew you'd make it! Oh, Mr. Policeman, Dr. Kate, you remember Alvin.

Jerry: I sure do. Yo, Al, what's up?!

Alvin: Hey, Jerry!

[He and Alvin hi-five]

Alvin: [shakes hands with Kate] Kate.

Kate: Long time, no see, Alvin.

Alvin: I had no idea you two would be here.

Jerry: As if Sora's biggest fan would ever miss her big break in the Big Apple.

Kate: And I'm always there in case of an injury.

[Sora's family approaches]

Yume: Hi, Alvin!

Alvin: Oh, hi, Yume! Look how big you got!

Yume: I know. It's been so long since I last saw you. I can't wait to see my big sis perform tomorrow!

Alvin: I know. I'm as excited as you are.

[Zuzu enters with Yuya]

Sora: Oh, hi, Zuzu. Yuya.

Zuzu: Evening, guys.

Yuya: Thanks for the invite.

Sora: Mom, Dad, Yume, Mr. Policeman, Dr. Kate, this is Yuya Sakaki and Zuzu Boyle.

Midori: [shakes hands with Zuzu] Pleasure to meet you, Zuzu.

Zuzu: Pleasure's all mine, Mrs. Naegino.

Jerry: [shakes hands with Yuya] You that famous Dueltainer?

Yuya: You betcha.

Zuzu: Hey, has anyone seen Sarah?

Sora: Oh, that's right! She'd never forgive herself if she didn't attend the pre-show party. Back at the dorms, she always had a rule: Never throw a party at the dorms without her.

Layla: [clinks her glass] Attention, everyone! I'm happy to announce that the guests of honor have arrived!

[Everyone applauds as Kalos Eido and Yuri Killian enter, along with Sarah DuPont; press takes photographs of them]

Yuri: Boy. We never even had this many guests at a pre-show party back in Cape Mery.

Kalos: Tell me about it.

Sarah: Well, that's Manhattan. Excuse me, Kalos, but I have some old friends to attend to.

[She runs up to Sora and the others; Sora and Sarah embrace]

Sora: Sarah!

Sarah: Hello, Sora.

Alvin: We really missed you, Sarah.

Zuzu: Sarah, welcome back!

[She and Sarah embrace]

Sarah: Zuzu.

Zuzu: [whispers] You'll be happy to know that all's been well with the team since you left.

[Sarah smiles; Kalos and Yuri approach]

Sora: Hi, boss. Hi, Yuri.

Kalos: I see you're as excited as can be for the show, Sora.

Sora: Mm-hmm.

Yuri: It's gonna be our first Kaleido Stage show outside of Cape Mery. It's been the talk of the town since our big announcement last month, and tickets sold like crazy.

Leon: [approaches] Oui. Ah, good evening, Alvin.

Alvin: [shakes hands with Leon] Leon.

Leon: You must be surprised at how many guests came all the way here for tomorrow's opening night.

Alvin: I am. I haven't seen a turnout this big since my group's concert at the Staples Center last month.

Simon: And it's nice of you to invite your family, Sora.

Sora: Thanks.

[All while the chatter continues, unknown to anyone, a mysterious drone watches over them from the upper-left corner of the ceiling]

[On board the Nickar, Tomahawk, Myaza, and Talon view the party on the bridge's monitor]

Myaza: So you see, Tomahawk, if we're gonna destroy the Kaleido Gladiators, we'll capture their loved ones.

Tomahawk: That's easier said than done.

Talon: Unless we distract the Gladiators somehow.

Myaza: Preferably with a Demonoid strong enough to require all 10 Gladiators to destroy. In the confusion, we'll take the Iron Wyvern and trap the Gladiators' loved ones inside.

Tomahawk: But how's that gonna make the Gladiators weaker? I mean, sure, they won't know where the Iron Wyvern took their friends and family, but...

Myaza: Remember, their stress over losing so many loved ones greatly affects their skills, on stage and on the battlefield.

Tomahawk: Perfect. We'll start immediately.

[Cut to the hangar; the three Demonoids approach the Iron Wyvern]

Tomahawk: Gladiators, prepare to meet your doom.

[She and her teammates board the Wyvern; outside, the Nickar surfaces; the hangar doors open, and the Wyvern takes to the sky]

[Back on the sub's bridge, Westcott and LN have seen it all]

Westcott: Well, if we're to use a Demonoid to distract the Gladiators, we'll have to use the creation Delta and Epsilon left behind before they disappeared.

LN: Cerberoid should do the job. I'll send him immediately.

[Later, outside Radio City Music Hall, Cerberoid (a robotic version of Cerberus who stands on two feet) appears]

Cerberoid: Radio City Music Hall, eh? Perfect target.

[He spews fire at a nearby abandoned car, setting it ablaze]

[Back in the Grand Lounge, Pamela is eating hors d'oeuvres when her phone pings; she picks up and sees a text from Tyler: "Demonoid attacking outside Radio City Music Hall. Car ablaze!"]

Pamela: Damn it. In the middle of a perfectly good party, too. [walks up to Layla] Layla, trouble. [points at the text] We gotta go.

Layla: You go first. I'll get the others.

Pamela: Right.

[She heads out and finds Cerberoid near the burning car]

Cerberoid: Ah! A Gladiator! Just what I'm after!

Pamela: [gets suited up] Kaleido Power!

Cerberoid: [spews fire at Pamela] Take this!

[Pamela inputs a code on her Kaleido Booster]

Pamela: 8-1-9! Brave Shield!

[WarGreymon's Brave Shield appears in front of Pamela to intercept the attack; Pamela jumps up and fires steel arrows from her crossbow at Cerberoid, who knocks them all to the ground with his fists, then charges at Pamela]

Pamela: You're lucky that car you burned was insured.

Cerberoid: How would you know?

Pamela: Simple. That was my car!

Cerberoid: Your car? Oh, I'm sorry. Had no idea. [kicks the burnt car] As if I'd give a sh*t!

[The other nine Gladiators enter the scene]

Sora: Pamela, what happened to your car?

Pamela: Chillax, Sora. I'll call the insurance company later.

Layla: In the meantime, let's bring this Demonoid to his knees.

Cerberoid: All 10 of you together, eh? Come, Bandersnatch!

[An army of Bandersnatch units appears]

Layla: Remember what Kotori told us, guys-- Aim directly for the emblem on the midsection.

Other Gladiators: Right!

[All 10 charge at the Bandersnatch and fight them with their weapons]

Cerberoid: [to a communication device] Now's your chance, Tomahawk. Begin the abduction.

[Cut to the bridge of the Iron Wyvern]

Tomahawk: Roger that. Tomahawk out. [to the others] There's still one problem. The Chipmunks are in the vicinity. They're Spider Riders.

Talon: If we catch them, everything will be ruined.

Myaza: Chill, guys. This tractor beam doesn't work on animals.

[Outside, the Iron Wyvern itself turns invisible, then hovers over Radio City Music Hall and stops at a spot where the tractor beam is not to be seen; back inside the bridge, the three Demonoids watch the fight between Cerberoid and the Gladiators on the monitor]

Tomahawk: Perfect. Myaza, activate the tractor beam!

Myaza: [hits a red button] Comin' right up!

[Outside, the Iron Wyvern's mouth opens, releasing a tractor beam upon a certain part of the building]

[Inside, the party continues; Alvin talks with Sora's friends from Japan]

Alvin: You know, if you're still in town after tomorrow's show, Sora and I could show you around.

Manami: That'd be wonderful, Alvin. Thanks.

Sayaka: I always wanted to sightsee around New York.

Miki: I know. Me, too.

[Suddenly, the three get transported out]

Alvin: Huh? Manami? Sayaka? Miki?

Simon: [runs up to Alvin] Alvin, Macquarie's disappeared!

Alvin: So have Sora's friends! They just vanished in a flash!

Theodore: [runs up to his brothers] Ken and his family are gone, too!

[More and more guests get transported out every few seconds, until only the Chipmunks, Jeanette, Eleanor, and Jonathan are left]

Jeanette: I think we're next!

Eleanor: [grabs Jonathan] Whoever's behind this is gonna pay!

[Yuya enters]

Yuya: Damn! I rush out to take a leak, and the party's over already?

Alvin: Not quite, Yuya. The guests didn't leave. They vanished into thin air. It's gotta be the Demonoids' doing.

Yuya: Where's Zuzu?

Theodore: She and the other Gladiators went out. Another Demonoid's attacking.

Yuya: But why are you guys left behind?

Eleanor: Probably wanted the Chipmunks out of the way.

Jeanette: They are the Spider Riders, after all.

Yuya: But then why are you two and Jonathan still here, too?

Alvin: That's a good question. But right now, we gotta warn the Gladiators.

[Back outside, the Gladiators wipe out the Bandersnatch w/their Gladiator Animals]

Pamela: Cerberoid is all mine, guys!

[She flies toward Cerberoid, pointing her crossbow at him]

Cerberoid: Time to fry!

[He spews fire]

Pamela: Ivory Crossbow, Eagle Arrow!

[She fires a flaming steel arrow from her crossbow at Cerberoid, which takes the form of a giant flaming eagle and bursts through Cerberoid's blast and strikes him savagely]

Cerberoid: I've done all I can do, Myaza. You're on your own.

[He falls to the ground, and an explosion is shown; the Gladiators revert to normal]

Pamela: Boy, he sure took up our time.

Sora: Wait. He mentioned Myaza's name before he blew up. I'll bet she sent him to set us up.

Layla: We'd better get back to the party and see if the guests are all right.

[The Chipmunks, Jeanette, Eleanor, and Yuya run up to them; Eleanor hands Jonathan to Marion]

Brittany: Guys, what's up?

Simon: It's the guests. They've been abducted!

Sora: What?!

Layla: How did it happen?

Alvin: I don't know. One minute everyone was having fun, the next, they all just disappeared!

Pamela: I'll bet it's the last of the Treacherous Ten trying to sabotage us.

Yuya: That's what we've been thinking. We just need proof.

[Suddenly, the Giga Beam appears from the sky and hits the remains of Cerberoid, reassembling and enlarging him]

Cerberoid: Worry about yourselves for once!

Pamela: So that Demonoid was used as a distraction against us. You guys try and find the guests. I'll occupy this guy. MechaEagle, deploy now!

[The MechaEagle flies into the scene; Pamela jumps into the cockpit]

Pamela: That little ploy to keep us away from our guests is gonna cost you a great deal! Drill Beak!

[The MechaEagle's beak spins like a drill as it dives down toward Cerberoid and strikes him hard]

Cerberoid: [spews fire at the MechaEagle] I hope you like fried chicken!

[The MechaEagle narrowly dodges each blast]

Pamela: MechaEagle, transform!

[The MechaEagle converts to Warrior Formation]

Pamela: MechaEagle, Warrior Formation, ready!

[The MechaEagle and Cerberoid fight]

Cerberoid: Big shot, eh? I'll show you who's top dog around here!

Pamela: Wing Cannons!

[The MechaEagle fires silver blasts from the cannons on its wings at Cerberoid, hitting him]

Cerberoid: Oy! What a cruel world this is.

[He falls to the ground; the MechaEagle slowly approaches him]

Layla: Hold your position, Pamela. It might be a trick.

Cerberoid: [awakens just before the MechaEagle stops in its tracks] Too late!

[His middle head extends and he grabs the MechaEagle by the left leg]

Cerberoid: Take that!

[He unleashes demonic energy upon the MechaEagle, hitting it hard]

Cerberoid: [laughs] Gotcha now!

[Suddenly, the MechaEagle takes to the sky at high speed and kicks Cerberoid off its leg; Cerberoid falls to the ground]

Cerberoid: No fair!

[The MechaEagle's eyes glow]

Pamela: [laughs] Who's laughing now?! MechaEagle, Ivory Twister!

[The MechaEagle spreads its arms and wings wide and spins around toward Cerberoid like a tornado; Cerberoid spews fire at the MechaEagle, but it reflects the flames right back, hitting him; the MechaEagle savagely strikes Cerberoid, slicing the chip in his neck in the process; Cerberoid screams, falls to the ground, and an explosion is shown]

Pamela: I've been wanting to try that move out for over a year.

[She jumps out of the cockpit and joins the others in the empty Grand Lounge; all 10 are now back to normal]

Pamela: Any luck?

Mia: Not a one, Pamela.

Pamela: If Westcott touches one hair on Mila or Milo's head, I'm gonna tear him apart!

May: That's easier said than done. The only way to destroy him or any of the Demonoid generals is to destroy all of their chips at once, and only the Spirit Soldiers have that kind of technology. But you have a point, Pamela. I'll do the same thing if he ever gets his hands on my brothers and sisters.

Rosetta: My poor Mama. I can't believe we have to go through this again.

Pamela: Again?

Sora: Oh, right. No one told you. Before we became Gladiators, five years ago, Alto Rizzoli sent a mutant and a repeat offender to kidnap our parents.

Layla: But only the parents. This time, it's even worse.

Sora: Why would the Demonoids wanna kidnap our guests, anyway?

Anna: And why didn't they kidnap Jonathan, the Chipmunks, Jeanette, or Eleanor?

Simon: That's what I've been wondering. I mean, Jeanette, Eleanor, and Jonathan don't have any powers, and yet, like us Chipmunks, they weren't abducted.

Yuya: The only reason I wasn't kidnapped was because I was in the john.

[Charlotte and Julie enter in a hurry]

Zuzu: You two?

Charlotte: Sorry we're late, but desk duty ran later than usual.

Julie: [looks around] Hey, where did everybody go?

Layla: Abducted by the Demonoids.

Alvin: My bros and I saw the whole thing. Few by few, they kept vanishing in a flash!

Charlotte: You've gotta be kidding me! But where were you Gladiators when it happened?

Sora: Distracted by one of Westcott's Demonoids. That Demonoid's history, but we gotta find out where he's keeping the guests and why he kidnapped them, then save them.

[Layla's iPhone rings (a call from Tohka Yatogami); Layla picks up]

Layla: Yes?

Tohka: Sorry about the delay, Layla. Most of us had a hard time picking out our clothes for the party. We're on our way over now.

Layla: Well, sorry to burst your bubble, Tohka, but the party's been cancelled.

Tohka: WHAT?! What happened?!

Layla: Guests have been abducted. I'm betting--

Tohka: --that the Demonoids are up to something? Kotori, notify the crew immediately!

Kotori: Roger that! Don't worry, Layla. We'll make sure they're all right.

Layla: Please do. Keep us posted. [hangs up]

Zuzu: So now what do we do?

Layla: We wait for the Demonoids to strike again.

[Back at the Nickar, Myaza and Talon enter the bridge, where Westcott and LN await]

Westcott: Excellent work, Treacherous Three. Well, two, actually. Where's Tomahawk?

Myaza: She's got the prisoners occupied in the Iron Wyvern. But in the meantime, I've got a plan to further distract the Gladiators.

Talon: Trust us, sir. It's a big plan. Very big, indeed.

[132 Madison Street, 7:23pm]

[In the lab, the gang receives a transmission from the Fraxinus]

Kotori: Karen ran a scan over Radio City Music Hall. It looks as though the Demonoids' Iron Wyvern has its own camouflage mode.

Sora: Iron Wyvern?

Brittany: The same mecha that put Shido in the hospital before we found out he was a Spirit Soldier.

Kotori: Mm-hmm. It's a very dangerous mecha. We think that's where the Demonoids are keeping the guests. I'll have Karen run some more scans, and as soon as we pinpoint the Iron Wyvern's location, you'll be the first to know.

Sora: Thanks, Kotori.

[Kotori signs off; the alarm blares]

Layla: Now what?

[The monitor opens a channel to outside the warehouse; Myaza and Talon, now in mutated forms (with new pikes) and giant-sized, attack the city]

Sora: Myaza and Talon! They're giant already?!

Pamela: Let's get this over with.

[The Gladiators get suited up and exit the warehouse]

[Back in the city, Myaza and Talon's attack continues]

Talon: Those Gladiators must be running scared.

Myaza: As if. They'll know we're attacking, and they'll come after us.

[The Mega Star Borg and Ivory Star Borg fly into the scene and strike them with their glowing fists]

[Cut to the Mega Star Borg's cockpit with Layla, Sora, Rosetta, Marion, May, and Brittany]

Sora: You two don't scare us with those new forms.

[Cut to the Ivory Star Borg's cockpit with Mia, Anna, Zuzu, and Pamela]

Pamela: Bring it on, Demonoids!

[Outside, the two Demonoids charge at the Star Borgs; all giants get into a fight over the next minute; afterwards, Myaza fires a barrage of sharp black feathers at the Mega Star Borg, hitting it; Talon claws the Ivory Star Borg w/her claws; they then grab the two Star Borgs in a headlock]

Layla: Damn! They've got us in a lock!

Brittany: We gotta break free somehow!

[Cut back outside; Myaza looks up]

Myaza: Huh?! What the hell?!

[Up in the sky hover the Sephira Robo and Sephira Battle Jet, firing blasts at the Demonoids, forcing them to release the Star Borgs]

[Cut to the Sephira Robo's cockpit with Spirit Soldiers Gold, White, Blue, Red, Fucshia, and Violet]

Kotori: It's time we put an end to this creep show.

[Cut to the Mega Star Borg's cockpit]

Sora: Spirit Soldiers!

[Cut to the Sephira Battle Jet's cockpit with Spirit Soldiers Gray, Black, Yellow, Green, and Orange (twins)]

Mukuro: We need all the firepower we can get, so Mr. Steele is sending the MechaBeetle to back you up.

[Split-screen to all four cockpits]

Pamela: That oughta do the trick. Thanks, guys!

[Outside, the MechaBeetle crawls into the scene and strikes the two Demonoids w/its horn]

Layla: Giga Borg, begin formation!

[The MechaBeetle and the Mega Star Borg combine to form the Giga Borg]

Kurumi: Sephira Battle Jet, full power to Jet Lasers! FIRE!

[The Sephira Battle Jet fires its lasers at the Demonoids, hitting them]

Shido: Sephira Robo saber, Spiritual Strike!

[The Sephira Robo strikes the two Demonoids w/its saber]

Pamela: Wing Cannons, fire!

[The Ivory Star Borg fires its Wing Cannons at Talon, hitting her]

Sora: Kaleido Giga Burst!

[The Giga Borg fires all of its weapons at Myaza, hitting her; both Demonoids fall to the ground, and an explosion is shown]

Layla: That's the end of those two. Now let's go find the guests.

[Suddenly, a large chain emerges from the smoke, grabs the Mega Star Borg, and pulls it off the MechaBeetle]

Myaza: [emerges from the smoke, revealing she's holding the chain] Not so fast, Gladiators!

[The Sephira Robo and the Ivory Star Borg try to pull the Mega Star Borg free, but Talon, back on her feet, strikes them both down w/her pike; she then shoots down the Sephira Battle Jet w/her lasers]

Myaza: [as her eyes glow] You're coming with me!

[A vortex opens behind her as she gets the Mega Star Borg in a lock; the vortex slowly starts to suck them in]

[Cut to the Mega Star Borg's cockpit]

Layla: Pamela, Shido, Myaza's dragging us toward a vortex!

Sora: We can't break free!

Shido: Talon's already got us cornered!

Pamela: Try to max out your thrusters!

May: It's no use! We've already exhausted too much energy!

Marion: We gotta abandon ship!

Rosetta: We don't wanna get sucked in!

Sora: What about the emergency thrusters?

Layla: It's too late for that! We have to go!

Sora: You guys can go, but I'm staying put until Myaza tells us where the guests are, and I'm not leaving our mecha behind!

Layla: Sora, I hate to have to do this to you, but...

[She karate-chops Sora on the back of her neck, knocking her out cold]

Layla: [grabs Sora] You'll thank me later.

[Everyone flies out of the cockpits; Sora comes to and looks up as Myaza and the Mega Star Borg get sucked into the vortex]

Sora: No! The Mega Star Borg! This can't be happening!

Talon: Oh, but it is, Gladiators. [laughs and vanishes]

[The vortex vanishes]

Layla: Sora, why? Lord knows what's on the other end of that vortex.

Sora: I know we have friends and family to save, Layla, but it also would've been dangerous if any of our mecha fell into the wrong hands. Who knows what they plan to do with the Mega Star Borg?

Mia: If they plan to use it against us, we'll fight back with whatever we have left. It's okay.

Sora: What's more, I had to get Myaza to tell us where she's keeping the hostages.

Brittany: Her grip on the Mega Star Borg was too much, and there was no way she was gonna tell.

May: Look, we'll strike back, and we'll get the guests back, as well as the Mega Star Borg.

[Sora frowns, then looks up at the sky]

Sora: [in her mind] Mom. Dad. Yume. Everyone.

[Back at the Nickar, Westcott receives a transmission from Tomahawk]

Westcott: Have your comrades successfully hidden the Mega Star Borg?

Tomahawk: As you requested, sir, but that was a dumb hiding place, if you ask me. It'll be next to impossible for the Gladiators not to find it. I suggest we kill them with their own mecha before they do.

Westcott: You want the Gladiators dead, right?

Tomahawk: More than anything, but is Myaza's plan actually going to work?

Westcott: Only if you follow it to a T. You may be their leader, but she's the brains of the whole outfit. Remember that.

Tomahawk: Yes, sir. Signing off.

[The transmission ends]

[Cut to the Iron Wyvern; inside, Tomahawk enters the room where the captives are held, all chained and shackled to the wall]

Tomahawk: Well, humans, it's only a matter of time before the Kaleido Gladiators arrive. They'll come to save you and their precious mecha, and when they do, they'll meet their doom.

Jerry: Why don't you just shut your big beak and let us go?

Tomahawk: And ruin the fun? Get real, copper.

Mr. Hamilton: I demand you to return me to my daughter at once!

Tomahawk: Oh, chillax, Hamilton. She's gonna come for you.

[Mr. Hamilton growls]

Midori: What makes you think she will?!

Tomahawk: Oh, she didn't tell you? [snickers] Hamilton, your daughter happens to be the Golden Phoenix, the Kaleido Gladiator I'm destined to destroy.

[Mr. Hamilton gasps]

Mr. Hamilton: Impossible!

Tomahawk: Your daughter is the reason you're here. All of the Gladiators are. We want them, and you're the perfect bait. [laughs maniacally]


[Clips from the next side-fic are shown]

Pamela: When am I ever gonna get my own Mega Mode? I get my own mecha, I fight some of my own battles, but no Mega Mode?

Sora: I'm sure the next episode will change that, Pamela.
