Spider Riders: The ACME Summer Movie!
[In a fire hall, Jon and Freddie sit on a table playing Bingo. They look at their partially completed cards.]
Caller: O-64.
[A group of participants place their chips on their cards]
Jon: [whispers] Oh, boy. One more to go!
Freddie: Yeah!
[The caller draws the next number...]
Caller: G-53.
[As Jon and Freddie place their chip on G-53]
Jon and Freddie: BINGO!
Caller: Bingo called!
[A lady walks up to Jon and Freddie and look at their card]
Lady: 3-22-36-53-64.
Caller: Good bingo!
Jon and Freddie: Yeah!
Jon: That's money, money, money!
Caller: We are going to take a break. We'll be back for another game in a moment.
[The lady hands Jon cash]
Jon: Thank you, ma'am. [to the viewers] Oh, hi there. We are approaching the dog days of summer. And Freddie and I are spending the evening at the fire hall playing an old-fashioned summertime game: Bingo.
Freddie: [shows a Bingo card] To play Bingo is to fill a line on this gridded card by matching combinations of letters and numbers either across, up and down, or diagonally. To begin, you place a marker in the center of your bingo card called "Free Space."
Jon: Then, you listen carefully to the letter and number combinations called out by the announcer called a bingo caller. He draws a ball out of the hopper with containing the letter and a number.
[The caller demonstrates and draws B-12]
Caller: B-12.
Freddie: Then you mark any square on your card that matches the number called. You look for the B column for the number 10 and place your marker on it. The caller keeps calling combinations until you fill a line across, up and down, or diagonally. When you do that you shout "BINGO!"
Jon: First person to call Bingo wins the game. And you can win money or in some cases prizes.
Freddie: Speaking of Bingo....
We are not talking about the game Bingo in tonight's movie. It's about a runaway circus dog saves the life of a boy named Chuckie who is somewhat an outcast within his family. But his parents discover the stowaway pooch and make no bones about the fact that Bingo will not accompany them on their cross-country move.
Caller: Okay, we are ready for the first number in the new game.
Jon: C'mon, Freddie. Let's take our seats and let's play more Bingo.
Freddie: Right. And for you folks at home, turn on the lights while you're watching the movie, and don't sit too close to the monitor.
