Side-Fic 339: Malware Madness

Rated TV-14 (DLSV)

Origami: Hello, everyone. Before you watch the show, make sure you turn on your lights and that you're not sitting too close to the monitor.

Narrator: In New York City's fight against crime, the dedicated detectives who pursue the most vicious criminals are members of an elite unit known as ACME Crime Net.

[132 Madison Street, Saturday, September 21st, 9:54am]

[Tohka enters in excitement, carrying a big package; Shido, Kotori, Mana, and Origami are at the table]

Origami: All this for a package, Tohka?

Tohka: It came! It finally came!

Mana: What finally came?

Kotori: What, you order a new Nintendo Switch Lite?

Tohka: [puts the package on the table] I did, but it was just shipped out. it'll be here by Monday. Meanwhile, I got something even better!

Shido: She'd been saving up from her part-time job at Hooters.

Tohka: It took over $800, but it was well worth it. [opens the package] You see, I'm in my second year of college, but I'm also a gaming nut.

[She extracts another box from the package and opens it up]

Tohka: Behold, my dear family...!

[She extracts a laptop PC from the box]

Tohka: A brand-new laptop computer!

Kotori and Mana: $800 for that thing?

Tohka: Now, now. It's pretty cool. [plugs in the charger and hooks it up to her laptop] It's got a 512-gig solid-state drive, 16 gigs of RAM, the works. And it's not only useful in helping out with schoolwork. It's also a gaming laptop.

Shido: She has a Steam account, but she'd usually play on my computer back home.

Tohka: Well, not anymore. Now, all I need to do is set this baby up.

Origami: Here. Let me help you.

[She sets up Tohka's laptop over the next few minutes]

Origami: We'll worry about Windows 10 another time. Now, you know how to connect to the Internet, don't you?

Tohka: [clicks the WiFi icon on the taskbar] No problem.

[She selects the network: "Seville58", which requires a password]

Tohka: Uh-oh.

Origami: Don't worry. Simon told me the password when I first came to stay here.

[She types the password, then successfully connects]

Origami: There. You're free to surf the web.

Tohka: [clicks on Microsoft Edge] YAY! [goes to Google] First thing I'm gonna do is check my e-mails.

[She logs on to her Gmail account: PrinPrin410; she checks her e-mails]

Tohka: [eyes her newest e-mail] Hmm. [clicks on it] "You have earned 5,500 yen in your Apple account. Click here to claim."

Origami: Uh-oh. Be careful, Tohka. You never can tell with these e-mails. That kind of e-mail could turn out to be...

Tohka: How can I pass this up?

[She clicks on "click here to claim"; Origami's eyes widen]

Origami: ...malware.

[The laptop shows: "You will be pwned in 60 seconds"]

Tohka: Oh, my God! What did I do?!

Origami: Don't panic! [types on the keyboard] All we have to do is stop it in less than a minute. Damn! No response.

Tohka: How do we stop it?

Origami: Let me see what I can do.

[She rushes to her own laptop and starts creating an antivirus as fast as she can; Shido and his sisters walk up to Tohka]

Kotori: You really gotta be careful around these kinds of e-mails, Tohka.

Tohka: I had no idea.

Mana: You should've set up Windows Security first.

Shido: Easy, girls. She's new at this stuff. [looks at the countdown] Origami! Only 30 more seconds!

Origami: Hold on.

[She is nearly done with the creation of her antivirus; after she is finished, she quickly downloads it into her flash drive]

Origami: Yes! [removes the flash drive] Here goes nothing.

[She rushes to Tohka's laptop and inserts the flash drive]

Tohka: Please hurry, Origami!

Origami: [quickly installs the antivirus] Okay, guys. Cross your fingers!

[With one final keystroke, the countdown clock stops at just one second, and the malware is cleared; the gang heaves a big sigh of relief]

Tohka: Thanks. That was too close. Another second, and that would've been a huge waste. I'm so sorry I had to put you through that.

Origami: Don't worry about it. [sets up Windows Security] This should protect you from further viruses like that.

Mana: That was one mean virus.

Kotori: Sure was.

Shido: Anyway, what say we get your Steam account set up?

Tohka: [pumps her fist in the air] YEAH!

[Neo-DEM Industries HQ, 10:10am]

[Westcott enters the meeting room with a computer-themed Demonoid]

Westcott: My brethren, this is my latest creation: Hackerdrone.

Hackerdrone: My task is to hack into New York's computer systems and give them malware.

LN: You're a genius, sir!

JB: Let's see what the Spirit Soldiers do when the computer systems come to a screeching halt.

Westcott: JB, take Hackerdrone to the city, and have him get started. If any Spirit Soldiers try to get in your way, back him up with Bandersnatch and a Wizard.

JB: At your service, sir!

[She and Hackerdrone vanish]

[132 Madison Street, 11:44am]

[The gang watches at Tohka plays Street Fighter V via Steam on her laptop, using a USB arcade stick; she plays as Sakura fighting Ryu (online)]

Tohka: Show me some Hadouken!

[Sakura strikes Ryu with her Hadouken, knocking him out]

Tohka: YES! Damn, that was close. Wanna play a round, Shido?

Shido: I'd love to, but I promised Yoshino I'd meet her for lunch, then teach her a new kata. I'm gonna go pick her up from work. She gets off in 15 minutes.

Tohka: Okay. Catch you later, Shido.

[She kisses Shido as he leaves; Miku, Mukuro, and Natsumi enter]

Kotori: Hey, you guys. Muku, how was aerobics class?

Mukuro: Same old, same old.

Natsumi: Hey, Tohka, what's with the new computer?

Tohka: I was overdue for one my own. Need it for gaming and my schoolwork.

Miku: [sits beside Tohka] Lemme have a look.

[She watches as Tohka plays (using Sakura) against another online player (using Karin)]

Tohka: This game did take a while to download on this computer, but it's well worth it.

Miku: I'd say the performance of this computer was well worth the money you spent on it. Look at the frame rate!

[Sakura successfully beats Karin]

Origami: It's amazing how much hard work at Hooters pays off, aside from a free meal.

Tohka: [logs out of Steam and opens Microsoft Edge] Speaking of Hooters, anyone want a bite?

[The others indistinctly tell Tohka what they want; Tohka goes on the Hooters website and places an order]

[Elsewhere in NYC, Ai, Mai, and Mii construct a robot of their own]

Mai: Ai, this is ridiculous. How's a robot gonna expose the Spirit Soldiers?

Ai: The BuddyBorg doesn't just fight off the enemy. It can also monitor what the Spirit Soldiers do for quality assurance. Good thing my cousin works at the University of Tokyo.

Mii: Yeah, but this is so lame.

Ai: I really wish you'd stop saying the same thing, Mii.

[Mai types on her laptop]

Mai: Hopefully this plan will actually succeed.

Ai: With my cousin's expertise, it should succeed with this robot recipe.

[They sing as they continue putting the finishing touches on their robot]

Ai: A handful of hubcaps.
A thimbleful of thumb tacks.
10 tin digital digits.
A smidgen of widgets.
Twists of the pliers.
A couple of snips.
Three yokes of the gizmo
and microchip fingertips.

Ai, Mai, and Mii: You really don't need very much experience
to fabricate a robot of convenience.
With precision and expedience
and all the right ingredients,
just follow the instructions to a T,
to make our favorite robot recipe.

Mai: A packet of noodles.
A caboodle of doodles.
A box of bobbins.
A bottle of bobby pins.
Mii: 11 liquid quarts
of locked aluminum sockets,
and six slick spoonfuls
of sticky electrical sprockets.

All three: You really don't need very much experience
to fabricate a robot of convenience.
With precision and expedience
and all the right ingredients,
just follow the instructions to a T,
to make our favorite robot recipe.
To make our favorite robot recipe!

[Their robot is complete]

Ai: Okay, girls. Assembly is complete. Now to get the BuddyBorg started. Mai?

Mai: Aye-aye, Ai!

[She slides back to her laptop and begins programming; all three girls don their goggles]

Ai: Defibrillator, Mii! Maximum power!

Mii: [nods] Hmm! Clear!

[Ai steps back as Mii sets the defibrillator to maximum power and presses the paddles against the BuddyBorg]

Ai: Live, my glorious BuddyBorg! LIVE!!!

[Downtown New York City Data Center, 12:14pm]

[Hackerdrone taps into the computer system; JB inspects the screen on his torso, which shows the blueprints of the Spirit Soldiers' arsenal]

JB: Well, well. The Spirit Soldiers' blueprints. Apparently, by adding them to ACME Crime Net's data banks, they made it much easier for us to beat them. Hackerdrone, inject your malware into--

Hackerdrone: Done! With their arsenal out of commission, the Spirit Soldiers won't stand a chance against me.

JB: Do the same with all of ACME's arsenal while you're at it.

Hackerdrone: Way ahead of you, Lady JB.

JB: [snickers] Now nothing or no one will stop us.

[Not long afterwards, all around the city, machines go haywire; ATM machines spit out cash; automatic doors open and close repeatedly; traffic lights repeatedly flash between red and green, causing a huge traffic jam; computers in many a household is struck with malware; back at Ai, Mai, and Mii's location, just as the BuddyBorg's programming is nearly finished, the malware infects it; the BuddyBorg activates and moves its arms]

Ai: It's alive! ALIVE!

BuddyBorg: Spirit Soldiers. [climbs off the stretcher] Must destroy Spirit Soldiers.

Mai and Mii: Destroy?!

Ai: That wasn't in the programming!

[The BuddyBorg marches away]

Ai: Mai, did you do something to the BuddyBorg's programming?

[Mai inspects her laptop]

Mai: No. It's a computer virus! It must've spread into the BuddyBorg and scrambled its programming!

Ai: Then instead of helping the Spirit Soldiers, it's going to destroy them!

Mii: Now this is lame!

[132 Madison Street, 12:30pm]

[After lunch, Tohka sends an e-mail to Layla:
"Dear Layla,
How was the cruise? I really missed you while you were gone. Please reply soon.
~ Tohka"]

Natsumi: You sure are getting the hang of this, aren't you, Tohka?

Miku: Looks like you have a new rival, Origami.

Origami: Don't push your luck.

[Suddenly, Tohka's laptop is given the same Hackerdrone malware]

Tohka: Whoa!

Miku: What's wrong, Tohka?

Tohka: Another virus?!

Origami: [eyes the virus] Oh, my God! I've never seen a virus like this!

[The alarm blares]

Tohka: Great. First my computer gets two viruses, now this?

[Her Spirit Brace beeps]

Tohka: [responds] Go ahead.

MARIA: Tohka, does your laptop have a computer virus?

Tohka: Yes, MARIA, but why do you ask?

MARIA: The emergency is the virus. Plus, there's a mysterious robot on the loose in the city.

Tohka: We'll check the lab.

Natsumi: Hold your horses. What if the virus got to the lab, too?

Kotori: One way or the other, we have to check.

[All seven girls head for the lab; the computers are all still in good shape; the girls sigh with relief]

Origami: I knew it. The computers at this lab have a strong firewall to ward off hackers.

[The computer receives a notification: Incoming transmission from Tyler Steele]

Origami: [accepts the transmission] We read you, Mr. Steele.

Tyler: Our drones caught a Demonoid breaking into the New York City Data Center and spreading malware. Computer systems have been crashing all over the city. I'm contacting you from my phone, 'cause the Demonoid hacked into the computers at ACME HQ.

Origami: What about the robot lurking in the city?

Tyler: I contacted Professor Hart. He tracked the robot to Midtown.

Tohka: We'll split up. Origami, Miku, Kotori, and I will take on the data center.

Tyler: I'll contact Shido and Yoshino and have 'em meet you there.

Mukuro: Mr. Steele, could you call Kurumi, Nia, and the twins and have them meet the rest of us at Midtown?

Tyler: Immediately. Good luck, Spirit Soldiers. [signs off]

Mana: Let me guess-- I need to conserve my Wizard energy, so I'm on standby.

Kotori: Exactly.

Origami: But if we do need you, we'll let you know.

[She, Tohka, Kotori, Mukuro, Natsumi, and Miku head upstairs]

All six: Sephira, GO!

[They all get suited up]

[Midtown Manhattan, 12:35pm]

[Spirit Soldiers Gray, Black, Yellow, Green, and the Orange twins appear before the BuddyBorg]

BuddyBorg: Attack Spirit Soldiers.

[It fires lasers at the six Spirit Soldiers, who narrowly dodge; they fight the BuddyBorg, who punches all six of them with its steel fists]

BuddyBorg: Termination is inevitable. Do not resist.

Kaguya: Damn! This robot sure means business.

Yuzuru: Question. Why would the Demonoids wanna create this robot?

Ai: Spirit Soldiers!

[The Spirit Soldiers notice Ai, Mai, and Mii watching the fight from a tree]

Kurumi: What are you three doing up there?

Mukuro: You shouldn't be here!

Nia: It's too dangerous!

Ai: The BuddyBorg is our robot!

Natsumi: What?! You're trying to kill us?!

Mai: No! We built it so it could be a useful tool to help you fight the Demonoids!

Ai: But apparently, a computer virus infected it so it could fight against you instead!

Mii: Which is really lame!

Ai: So do us all a favor and destroy it!

BuddyBorg: [points its fists at the trio] Attack creators.

[It launches its fists like rockets at the trio]

Kurumi: [fires bullets at the fists] Time Freeze Mode!

[The bullets stop the fists in their tracks]

BuddyBorg: Retract!

[Its fists return to its wrists]

BuddyBorg: Spirit Soldiers must be destroyed.

Ai: Boy, are we in trouble, guys.

Mai: We created a monster!

Mii: So, so lame, yo!

[Meanwhile, at the data center, Spirit Soldiers Gold and Blue enter the room where Hackerdrone was last seen]

Shido: All right. These are the coordinates MARIA gave us. Hackerdrone's gotta be around here somewhere.

[Suddenly, Hackerdrone barges in from a computer monitor]

Hackerdrone: Ah! Some Spirit Soldiers for me to play with!

[He zaps the two Spirit Soldiers with lightning]

Yoshino: You really don't play fair, do you?

Hackerdrone: Time to terminate your connection!

[Suddenly, Spirit Soldiers White, Red, Fuchsia, and Violet appear in front of Shido and Yoshino, pointing their Spirit Pistols at Hackerdrone]

Tohka: Not so fast, Hackerdrone! If anyone's connection is gonna get terminated, it's gonna be yours!

[Hackerdrone scans the Spirit Pistols]

Hackerdrone: Prove it.

[The four Spirit Soldiers fire at Hackerdrone, but Hackerdrone erects a barrier around himself, repelling the blasts]

Hackerdrone: What's the matter? Having trouble with your weapons? [laughs]

Origami: His virus must've spread to our Spirit Pistols!

Shido: Let's try ours, Yoshino!

Yoshino: Got it!

[The duo whips out their pistols]

Hackerdrone: [scans the two pistols] You guys don't get it, do you? I told you your weapons are useless against me!

[Shido and Yoshino open fire, but Hackerdrone repels the blasts with his barrier, then strikes the six Spirit Soldiers with lightning]

Shido: Now what do we do?!

[Back at the Fraxinus EX, the crew inspects the computer systems]

Shiizaki: In all my years on the crew, I've never seen a computer virus quite like this!

Mikimoto: Nor have I. Somehow, it's managed to infiltrate Ratatoskr's computer network, and it's spreading so fast, none of us can seem to isolate it.

Kawagoe: As soon as we get rid of it in one system, it branches off to another!

Minowa: And as if that weren't enough, the virus has worked its way into the mecha's protective software and into the main operating system!

Nakatsugawa: Which means the Spirit Soldiers are practically defenseless without the Sephira Voyagers or the Defender Tank.

Elliot: It's imperative that you eradicate that malware, crew. The Spirit Soldiers are counting on it.

Crew: Yes, sir!

[Back at the data center, Hackerdrone has the Spirit Soldiers cornered]

Hackerdrone: It's all over, Spirit Soldiers. Not even your Sephira Voyagers can help you now. All because of my measly malware. [laughs]

Shido: Split up, guys!

[He and his team split up as they try to make their way out of the building, trying to avoid Hackerdrone's lightning and lasers]

Hackerdrone: You can't escape Hackerdrone, Spirit Soldiers!

[He tosses explosives at the Spirit Soldiers as they near a window; the explosives blow up just as the Spirit Soldiers jump out the window; they land safely on the ground; Hackerdrone appears before them]

Hackerdrone: You may have saved the data center, but unless you destroy me, you can't destroy my virus!

Shido: All right, girls! It's time for the Sephira Bazooka!

[He and his teammates combine their weapons]

Tohka: It's worth a shot. Let's do it!

Hackerdrone: [scans the Sephira Bazooka] Do your worst!

Spirit Soldiers: FIRE!

[The Sephira Bazooka fires at Hackerdrone, who repels the blast with his barrier, then zaps the Spirit Soldiers with lightning again]

Shido: [whips out his Sephira Spear] Sephira Spear!

[His spear glows gold; he spins it around and charges toward Hackerdrone, who scans the spear]

Hackerdrone: Nice try, Shido!

Shido: Sephira Supernova Slash!

[He strikes Hackerdrone, who blocks the attack with his barrier; with his arm-mounted blades, Hackerdrone strikes Shido back to his teammates]

Miku: Darling!

Kotori: You all right, bro?

Shido: Yeah, I'm fine.

Hackerdrone: Get up and let me finish you!

Kotori: [to her Spirit Brace] Commander to Fraxinus! Our weapons are infected! We need help!

[Cut back to the Fraxinus]

Elliot: Your computer-based weapons may be infected, but MARIA and Karen reconfigured the Reiryoku Armor by injecting it with a powerful firewall. Call for it immediately.

[Cut back to Downtown Manhattan]

Origami: Leave this one to me. Reiryoku Armor, energize!

[She gets equipped with the Reiryoku Armor and the Reiryoku Cannon]

Origami: Care to get through me, Hackerdrone?

[She and Hackerdrone fight; JB watches from a nearby tree]

JB: Something tells me this isn't going to end well.

Hackerdrone: [tries to strike Origami with his blades] If you think that armor can stop me, you've got another thing coming!

[Origami punches him in the groin, pushing him back]

Origami: That was for infecting my friend's new computer.

Hackerdrone: [groans] That really hurt!

Origami: Not nearly as much as this! Reiryoku Cannon, charge!

[The Reiryoku Cannon charges]

Hackerdrone: [taps keys on his keyboard] That little cannon is easily taken care of. I'll just introduce it to my little malware.

[He scans the cannon, but...]

Computer: Unable to analyze.

Hackerdrone: What?! This can't be! [continuously taps his keys] Try again!

[No matter what, the cannon cannot be scanned or infected]

Origami: Sorry, but it's you who's crashing this time! FIRE!

[The cannon fires a massive burst of spiritual energy at Hackerdrone, hitting him hard; Hackerdrone screams, falls to the ground, and an explosion is shown; one of his chips flies out of the smoke and shatters to pieces]

Origami: One chip down, one chip to go.

[Back at Midtown, the fight against the BuddyBorg continues]

BuddyBorg: Spirit Soldiers are no match for the BuddyBorg. Judgment day has come.

Mai: [groans] If the BuddyBorg kills the Spirit Soldiers, we'll be to blame!

Ai: Don't be ridiculous, Mai. The Spirit Soldiers never lose!

Mii: Never!

Kurumi: Guys, I suggest we strike it on all sides.

Mukuro: Yeah, all at once.

Nia: That way, no matter where it turns, there's a Spirit Soldier in its face.

Natsumi: Let's just hope our strength holds up.

[They jump up and surround the BuddyBorg on all sides, pointing their Spirit Pistols at it; the BuddyBorg turns around, trying to point its lasers at them one at a time]

BuddyBorg: Error. Error. Enemy attack unavoidable.

Kurumi: FIRE!

[The Spirit Soldiers fire their pistols at the BuddyBorg, hitting him; he electrifies; the six Spirit Soldiers combine their main weapons to form the Sephira Buster]

Spirit Soldiers: Sephira Buster!

Natsumi: You've fired your last laser, you pathetic hunk of tin!

Kurumi: Ready!

Mukuro: Aim!

All six: FIRE!

[The Sephira Buster fires a burst of five colors at the BuddyBorg, hitting it hard]

BuddyBorg: Fatal error. Fatal error. [voice distorts] Fatal error. Fatal error...

[It falls to the ground, and an explosion is shown; after the smoke clears, the BuddyBorg is left in nothing but charred pieces]

[Ai, Mai, and Mii laugh and cheer]

Ai: I told you they'd do it! Never had a doubt in my mind!

Mai: What a team!

[Mii nods in agreement]

Natsumi: [looks up at the tree] You three all right?

Ai: We're fine, Spirit Soldiers, thanks to you. And we're really sorry about that robot.

Mukuro: Think nothing of it. You were only trying to help us.

Nia: You three had better get home before it gets ugly again.

Kurumi: The other Spirit Soldiers need our help in taking down that evil computer virus.

Ai: Right. Good luck!

[The six Spirit Soldiers teleport out]

Mai: You didn't bother asking who they really were?

Ai: Like they'd ever really tell us.

[The trio jumps off the tree]

Ai: Well, back to the drawing board.

[They head out]

[Back at Downtown Manhattan, all 12 Spirit Soldiers are united]

Tohka: How'd it go against that mysterious robot?

Kurumi: Easy as pie.

Origami: Now let's finish off Hackerdrone.

JB: [fires her Giga Beam laser at the remains of Hackerdrone] Giga Beam!

[The beam restores Hackerdrone and enlarges him]

Hackerdrone: Talk about an upgrade!

Shido: Send in the Sephira Voyagers!

Elliot: [through Shido's Spirit Brace] The malware has spread to the voyagers, Shido. They're inoperable. We can't send them out.

Kotori: What about the Defender Tank?

Elliot: That, too.

Origami: Hold it, guys. I think I've got an idea, but I'll have to go back to the warehouse.

[She teleports out]

Tohka: What's she up to?

[Back at the warehouse, Origami opens her laptop and starts to reverse-engineer the virus]

Origami: Lucky for me, the virus couldn't get past my firewall.

[She quickly creates a new antivirus and inserts it into her flash drive]

Origami: It's a long shot, but it has to be done.

[She shuts her laptop, then teleports to the Fraxinus laboratory]

Karen: Origami!

Origami: [hands Karen the flash drive] Try this, Karen. It might wipe out the virus.

Karen: [inserts the flash drive onto the main computer] I hope you're right.

Origami: If it works, not only will it rid all our arsenal of the virus, but it'll protect them from any further reinfection. Cross your fingers.

[On the main computer, the antivirus clears all arsenal of the malware]

Karen: Yes! Everything is fully operational! Nice work, Origami!

[She hands Origami back her flash drive]

Origami: Now to shut this computer down to get rid of the virus for good. Back to action!

[She teleports back to Downtown Manhattan]

Shido: Where have you been?

Origami: I created an antivirus to cure our arsenal, including the Sephira Voyagers.

Tohka: Origami, you've done it again!

[She and Origami hi-five]

Origami: Now for Hackerdrone. Send in the Sephira Voyagers!

[All 11 Sephira Voyagers fly into the scene; the Spirit Soldiers jump into the cockpits; all Sephira Voyagers combine to form the Sephira Ultra Robo; the giant mecha fights Hackerdrone]

Hackerdrone: I see you're feeling much better now. You must need another dose of my malware!

[He unleashes electric cables upon the Sephira Ultra Robo and zaps it with their electricity]

[Cut to the Sephira Ultra Robo's cockpit; sparks fly]

Origami: Try and break loose!

Kurumi: The cables are too strong!

Kotori: [to her Spirit Brace] Mr. Woodman, he's too much for the Sephira Ultra Robo! We need help fast!

Elliot: Help is already on the way!

[Outside, Mana, in her CR-Unit Vanagandr, flies into the scene]

Mana: Aren't you forgetting someone?!

[She strikes Hackerdrone with her blade]

Hackerdrone: Well, well, well. A puny little Wizard to play with. What fun!

[Mana continuously strikes Hackerdrone down as he tries desperately to swat her away]

[Cut back to the cockpit]

Shido: Quick! While Mana distracts him!

Origami: Let's see if we can reverse the charges!

[Outside, the Sephira Ultra Robo sends shockwaves through the cables right back at the distracted Hackerdrone, zapping him and forcing him to let go; Mana slices the cables off with her blade]

Mana: If it's RAM he wants, then I'll grant his wish!

[She flies toward Hackerdrone like a ram and strikes him hard]

Hackerdrone: You'll pay for that, you stupid, little computer bug!

[Mana's eyes widen; she growls lividly; her power levels rise]

Shido: Oh, now you've done it!

Mana: Call me a bug, will you?! You freakin' hypocrite! Fenrir: Lightning Field!

[The mechanical jaw on her left arm opens up and glows; she spins around in a square around Hackerdrone, surrounding him with streaks of lightning]

Hackerdrone: What's this?!

Mana: It's a good thing I know how to stop a bad computer, and that's to make it crash! FIRE!

[Fenrir bombards Hackerdrone with massive blasts of energy; Hackerdrone screams as he takes the blasts; the screen on his torso shatters to pieces]

Hackerdrone: Oh, no! My beautiful screen! Look what you've done to it!

[All over the city, all haywire machines revert to normal progress; citizens cheer]

[Cut back to Downtown Manhattan]

Mana: [flies back to the ground and reverts to normal] Okay, Spirit Soldiers! Send him back to cyberspace!

[Cut back to the cockpit]

Origami: Thank you, Mana. Sephira Ultra Spear, Emission Strike!

[Outside, the Sephira Ultra Robo gets equipped with the Sephira Ultra Spear and impales Hackerdrone with it, shattering his chip to pieces from within; the Sephira Ultra Robo pulls its spear back; Hackerdrone screams as he gets electrified, falls to the ground, and an explosion is shown; the Spirit Soldiers jump out of the cockpit and join Mana]

Origami: Termination complete! Sephira Squadron...!

All 12 Spirit Soldiers: Spirit Soldiers!

[The Sephira Ultra Robo poses triumphantly]

[Back at the tree, JB is furious]

JB: That little traitor! Always getting in the way! [growls] And even my own boss can't cook up a good Demonoid to beat the Spirit Soldiers! I'll be back! [vanishes]

[132 Madison Street, 2:23pm]

[The gang, back to normal, is gathered at the table]

Shido: [pats his sister on the head] Mana, thanks for bailing us out.

Mana: [blushes] Don't mention it, Big Brother. Who cares if I lost a bit of my powers? It was worth it.

Shido: [turns to Spirit Soldier White] And special thanks to you, Origami. All your quick thinking and decisive action during this computer crisis saved the whole city.

Origami: It was my pleasure, Shido.

Tohka: How were you able to get that antivirus so quickly?

Origami: It's easy. Computer viruses are easy to reverse-engineer. Plus, I can type at a rate of over 100 words per minute, so typing the codes was a cakewalk. It all comes from years of studying with the Anti-Spirit Team. They know a lot about computer viruses and how to stop them.

Kotori: Impressive. But why didn't you consider the antivirus before you went into action?

Origami: We had to deal with Hackerdrone before he did anymore damage.

Miku: Hmm. Good point.

Shido: At any rate, at least the computer crisis is over.

Tohka: [opens her laptop] And my computer's back online!

Origami: Even better. I installed a stronger firewall and a virtual private network so that you won't have to worry about hackers or viruses anytime soon.

Tohka: Oh, thanks, Origami. [puts her arm around Origami] I knew I could count on you.

Origami: What are friends for?

[They bump fists]

[Clips from the next side-fic are shown]

Tohka: Wait a minute! Who said you could get two episodes in a row?

Origami: The writers. Besides, you got your two. Why can't I?

Tohka: I thought my first one was focused on the origins of our powers.

Origami: Technically, that was a Tohka episode, since you were the center of attention. At any rate, the Chipmunks and the Chipettes will be in this one, too.

Mana: Hold the argument, guys. What the hell's our ex-captain doing here?

Origami: Next time: The Path of an Angel.

Shido: Vigilance, dedication, courage!

Tohka: Seriously, what's the Mecha-Mecha Squad up to?
