Sylphy: Summer Movie!

[Flea Market]

[Freddie plays Beethoven on a keyboard]

Jon: What are you doing, Freddie?

Freddie: Playing Beethoven music.

Jon: Well, you shouldn’t mess with the keyboard whenever it’s on sale at a flea market.

Freddie: But, Jon. Tonight’s ACME Summer Movie is about Beethoven.



Jon: Not talking about the composer, Beethoven. A Saint Bernard. It’s about a dog who adopts an unsuspecting family called the Newtons’s promptly growing up into a 185 pound romping drooling disaster pooch!

Freddie: He’s the biggest and heaviest dog I’ve ever seen in a movie.

Jon: But after he proves his canine credentials to mom and the kids, Beethoven gets nowhere with the father, George.

Freddie: You mean, Rusty’s father, George?

Jon: [chuckles] No. George Newton. And then one day, a mean vet makes Beethoven the target of an unspeakable animal experiment. George is the only hope for saving the Newton’s furriest family member. The film stars Bonnie Hunt, Charles Grodin and Dean Jones.

[Suddenly, a Saint Bernard appears and licks Freddie’s rear end]

Freddie: Hey, you dog! Get away from me! Jon, help me!

Jon: Uh-oh. I think Beethoven is about to devour Freddie. Why don’t you watch the film ---

George: BEETHOVEN!

[George begins to run toward Beethoven who continues licking Freddie]

Freddie: Jon! Help me!

Jon: Make sure you turn on your lights and that you're not sitting too close to the monitor. One Saint Bernard and a raccoon…ON THE LOOSE!

[He begins to run]
